All done racing around the world, Phil

Not the most scintillating season of Amazing Race, but a solid enough one. In the end, to the shock of absolutely no one, the Frat Boys got an extended tour of the greater Portland area and were in no contention for the race whatsoever. Nick and Starr raced neck and neck with a bickering Ken and Tina who so totally deserve to be stuck with each other for the rest of their natural lives. I think it probably wasn’t as neck and neck on the final dash to the mat, which the sibs won handily, but it was a good, tough, frantic final leg (Note to the race planners: please find ANY other way than depending on finding a cab to determine the final race to the mat.) On the mat the sibs were gracious in victory, even though I’m pretty sure Nick’s ego might be slightly difficult to live with in the forseeable future. I learned from a print interview that Starr and Dallas are still dating (and the passport fiasco kept him and his mom from making the final mat.) We also get to see a tearful Ken put his and Tina’s wedding rings back on while standing on the mat as they pledge to make their marriage work. Which is an impressive goal that I most definitely respect…but, Ken. Seriously? Dude.

They’ve already announce that the next race airs in early March, so YAY!

Now it’s on to more Top Chef and this week’s Survivor finale (Thursday and Sunday.)

In the meantime, why don’t we giveaway a free book? This week I’m making it easy on ya. Just send me an email to donna@donnakauffman.com with “I’m a winner!” in the subject line. I’ll choose one from all the entries and post the winner on Friday. Good luck!

And? DISH of course!!

  1. Yeah! Nick and Starr won! I definitely agree with not having getting a taxi being the deciding factor on whether or not you win. It figures that once they came back to the US the drivers didn’t know where they were going! Geez! I was hoping for more of a challenging finale…..

I was looking for Dallas and his mom. Sadly they were still detained b/c of their passports. It just didn’t seem like a real finale without them!

  2. I was glad Nick and Staar won. Poor Ken he is going to need therapy after taking her back.

I was wondering if the passport thing kept Toni and Dallas from being there. Thanks for the update on that.

  3. Hey Donna did you see that Phil is going to be on the Password game show when it starts back up

  4. Hi Donna, Out of the remaining three thank goodnes it was Nick & Starr. I bet the Fratboys were still figurig out the board task and the producers picked them up to finish the show, lol. I hope it works out with Dallas and Starr, they made a cute couple from what they let us see on the race. I wish they would let us know the the time difference when the couples cross the finish line. It should be foot race from the last task because a taxi driver not knowing where to go is a sucky way to lose the game. I think you should try out for the show.

  5. Oooh, Judy, no I missed that. Hmmmm… :)

I did catch an interview with Starr & Nick today and they said that they hit the mat about 11 minutes in front of Ken/Tina, and an hour and a half before the Frat boys (who did make it all the way to the end - no Team Guido rescue.) They also said that Toni/Dallas made it to the wrap party that night, got in around 10:30, missed the mat finished by a few hours (due to the passport stuff.) She said they are still dating and she’s contemplating moving to CA to be closer to him. They shared their first kiss at the wrap party. Awww.)

  6. I’m happy Nick & Starr won only because Toni & Dallas couldn’t. Thanks for the updates, Donna!

I am looking forward to Top Chef tonight! :)

  7. Thanks for the extra scoop Donna! I missed the interviews!
