Oh Bob.
A pretty good ending challenge (build a house of cards using heavy wooden planks) ten feet tall….that Susie wins. Yeah. Susie. I know. But, backing up….just wanted to say that I had no problem with Sugar creating a tie between Bob and Matty to go for final three, which allowed Bob into the finals at all. I felt for Matty, who is entirely too trusting, but felt that was her really best path…leaving it up to them to rightfully win that slot.
I’d have thought she’d have a better shot at the million, but clearly…not even a chance. So she was right in that it didn’t matter who she put there. What bugged me was that Bob was so seemingly forgetful of the fact that it was largely Sugar’s gameplay that got him to that point. She didn’t have to flip on Kenny. And she seemed to regret that. And yet, even he couldn’t toss a vote her way.
So, it ends with Bob, Susie, and Sugar in the finals. Would have rather it been Matty. As I’m sure Matty feels the same since they all made it clear they’d have chosen him over Bob. However, he seems at peace with what he got from his time out there. And, by the way, he’s a trust fund kid, so money isn’t exactly going to be an issue.
I think this was easily the worst jury in the history of the game. Even months later, the most bitter group ever. Wow. Corrinne deserves not an additional single word of print. So I’ll leave it with Karma. Please. Randy still just strikes me as a sad and damaged guy. I thought it said a lot that he gave his tickets to fans of the show…and that he’s still bitter about the damn cookie. Marcus is still smug, Charlie is still a follower and incredibly bad judge of people. Crystal has some self awareness, as does Susie. Kenny…is still Kenny. The rest….
So, my hope is that Bob and his family enjoy their very well deserved windfall. That Matty lives a long and happy life with his soon to be wife. And that Sugar goes on to win an Oscar and make millions on her own.
Oh….and that the powers that be on Survivor decide in the future that the winner of the million is then exempt as fan favorite. Because….Susie got second place money, Bob won…..and Sugar got majorly shafted. Even Probst didn’t really give her respect for her game play, casting her instead as simply being much maligned. While true, still didn’t pay any homage to her game play. A shame, that. And making her think, even for a second, she won the 100k? Shame on you, Probst.
Bob…likable, worthy winner whose time on the show I definitely enjoyed….and still possibly the most boring recipient of the million and 100K ever. So, anticlimactic, despite the fact that I have no issues with the win.
Next season? Brazil. Looks stunning and fascinating. Let’s hope for fewer damaged ugly people and more Bob’s and Sugar’s - interesting folks out to play a game.
I hope everyone is getting geared up for the holiday season. My family is here and I will be taking the next few weeks away from the blog and enjoying my rare time with them. I wish you all the very best of time spent with you and yours…and maybe a good book or two in there somewhere, too.

I felt bad for Sugar. She did a lot to move her game and others along. I agree on the fav player if its the million $$ winner it should go to the next person. I didn’t listen to much of the jury ?? that just gets on my nerves but I couldn’t believe when they replayed Corrines comments. She is just pure evil.

Yeah, Sugar should have won something… is it fame at least? I really liked her - subtle, sensitive and yet a smart player! And I thought Matty blew his trust fund? I’ll need to rewatch the final episode for missed details. Happy Holidays Donna and all!
As someone who clearly out-strategized her competitors over and over, Sugar sure underplayed her case when it came to her statement to the jury. Which left me feeling like she honestly didn’t care about the money. I agree with you, Donna–NO ONE seemed to realize how much of a mastermind Sugar was this season. And it KILLED me that NO ONE brought up the fact that she came up with (and executed) the honorable solution to the Bob/Matty dilemma at the end. If she’d played that card at tribal council (and used the “I may have pissed you off but I was the smartest player” card), I truly believe she could have garnered herself some votes. Although, what do I know? Maybe she DID employ those arguments …and maybe the producers edited them out. Anyway…I thought this was one of the best seasons ever (with the fake idols, the clever strategies etc.). And, yes…I hope Corrine’s happy with the way she’s portrayed herself to the world. Can you imagine????

I’m still seething that they allowed Bob in on that $100,000. The best player in the whole game was Sugar as far as I’m concerned. The thing she did lack was standing up for herself in the end. Oh well, it wouldn’t be Survivor if something didn’t get me upset at the end!!!!
