Dog Day Afternoon…..and evening….and…..

So, I didn’t get to watch Superstars of Dance last night because I got home yesterday to find that my pup had managed to tear a claw out. Lovely. Did you know they tend to bleed? A lot? Like, something from Carrie 3? True, as it turns out.

So the evening was spent staunching blood flow - for which I owe a MAJOR shout out to my pal Rhonda and her husband Paul, who came and bandaged my little guy up so I wouldn’t spend the night (and all of my annual income) at the emergency vet. Then it was horror show clean up time. Yay.

The good news is that all is well with the gimpy pup, my carpets (walls, clothes, shoes, magazines, towels, did I mention carpet?) all survived. But late night tv didn’t make the To Do list.

However I will be checking in tonight, catching up on Superstars, and taking a peek (between the fingers of both hands) of the first round of American Idol audition nuttiness. So look for some MAC tomorrow.

Don’t forget to check out yesterdays blog to find out how to get in the running for a free book!

  1. It seems that it always works out that just when you are tired or wanting to relax, some little crisis manifests itself. I can just imagine how much “fun” it was to clean up all that blood. I am glad that you had help with the pup, and that he is doing OK.

I will be watching AI with you tonight. I am curious about the new judge.

  2. So glad to hear that the pup is fine.

  3. My sister cuts our dog’s nails and on the rare occasion that she cuts to far the blood flows. She is good friends with a vet and he gave her medicine to put on the nail that stops the bleeding almost instantly. I glad Miss Lily is okay.

I’m looking forward to hearing from the new judge.

  4. Thanks for the kind pup words. Actually, it was my dog, not the puppy - thank goodness! But we were way past the quick-stop stuff. He actually tore the whole claw out. I know. Ewwww. But he’s doing really really well tonight and all is good. Now I just need to hire a crime scene clean up crew. LOL

  5. When my husband would cut our dog’s nails a couple of times he cut too much and even that bled a lot and for a long time. I hope today is better for you.

  6. Puppies are adorable but I forgot they are messy. Our dog chewed on everything and we had to replace so many things. Whats frustrating is we got her when she 10 months old and wasn’t potty trained and was abused so she still has accidents sometimes.

  7. We had a dog with black nails and invariably I would get too close at least on one of them. We were able to buy some powdered medicine that stopped the bleeding. All I can remember is that it was yellow.
