While I totally appreciated your creative reasoning why any or all of the other covers might have been the odd cover out, the resounding number of you agreed with me that John McShane, my Silent Warrior, looks NOTHING like a college frat boy in a polo shirt. What WERE they thinking??? I cringe to this day. Even the Dan Quayle Loveswept cover isn’t that bad. (Go ahead and guess….
Oh, right…I guess you want to know who won, huh? Well, put your hands and ice cream scoops together for Trisha B, Carol M, and Kris M!! Woo hoo! A complete set of the Dirty Dozen books have been set aside for each of you (just picture, oh, I don’t know, Clive Owen when you read Silent Warrior.) Anyone watch Windfall? I slept thru most of it - waited all wk for it to come on. The only thing I know is that Jason Gedrick (hunk) still has a thing for his ex. And it seems the skinny dark haired guy murdered someone and the young kid married a Russian woman and for some reason his father doesnt like him. If anyone can fill me in on the dish on the characters….

A great weekend to you all. While my husband is helping a friend move, my daughter and I will be taking a trip to the zoo to see if the polar bear exhibit is complete yet. Rain or shine, gotta love the zoo!

Looks like we might have a little thunderstorm here this morning. But those are great to work by. The birds, Zaz and Miss Lemon, are presently sitting in my windowsill talking to all the outside birds, so at least they’ll get their chatter time in before the rain starts and I have to close windows.

Donna, I agree about the cover for Silent Warrior and I must admit I thought the cover looked a little like a Senior portrait (the ones you have taken your senior year of high school…LOL).
Jennifer - Exactly! So very wrong. I was all excited with how they handled the Santerra cover - it had great sales, the readers loved the cover guy, all was good. Then the art came for Silent Warrior. To say I was disappointed was putting it mildly. They could have at least found a model who was old enough to shave! And then black and white photgraphy to boot. Just…awful. One of my all time worst covers (in any language or translation - and that’s saying something! LOL)

Trisha, our zoo is putting in a new polar bear exhibit, too! The twin polar bears are coming here from Denver. They will be in quarantine for several weeks and we won’t be able to see them until the first week in August. You wouldn’t happen to live in Pittsburgh, would you?

Yes, I live near Pittsburgh! I just read that about the polar bears on their website actually. Do the virtual tour. It looks pretty impressive. We have the zoo membership and usually go at least 4-5 times a year.
