Guest Blogger!!

In keeping with the Aussie theme this week (what? You haven’t heard? Well check out yesterday’s blog post for this week’s SHaQ Attack book giveaway!) I invited pal and AUSSIE RULES author, Jill Shalvis to guest blog. Take it away, Jill!

Hi Everyone! Today’s topic? Lust.

Well, it’s a damn good thing I’m a romance author. It gives me a façade for lusting after my favorite TV heroes. This way, when I’ve got my tongue hanging out over Jack Bauer or House or Jack AND Sawyer on Lost, or any of the drool-inducing guys on Grey’s Anatomy, I have an excuse. Research. That’s right people, I expect you to at least pretend to believe I’m ga-ga eyed over these men for research, in order to absorb their hunkiness and impose such hunkiness on the heroes in my books.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

And the truth is, I’m not that picky. Take for example, my odd affinity for Brian Austin Green, Freddie Prince’s best friend on Freddie. The guy’s character is a leach, a mooch, and yet . . . don’t judge me . . .inexplicably sexy. Crazy, I know.

Or Danny on Vegas! Man slut. And yet, he flashes that naught smile and I’m goners. Wait, maybe I’m the slut . . .

Oh and I LOVE House. NO idea why. The guy is a sarcastic, cynical asshole, and yet . . . can’t get enough of him.

My husband is a bit amused by all this. He thinks his loftier viewing choice of the NBA excludes him from being a fellow TV addict. Ha! I recently commandeered the remote for a week (conveniently hiding it in the bottom of the fruit drawer in the refrigerator — that sucker’ll never see the light of day). Thus robbed of his beloved basketball, an odd phenomenon occurred. He got as hooked on TV as me. But he’s watching an entirely different gender, starting with Eva Longoria and ending with Nikki Cox . . .

Too bad he’s a general contractor not a romance author because I am damn sure not buying HIS “research” plea . . .

Who are your objects of lust? Come on, share, dish, contrast/compare… You can never have too many.

  1. Hi, Jill - just came over from your blog to take a peek. Should be getting ready for work.

I loooove DiNosio (spelling?) from NCIS and George Clooney from all his stuff.

John Stamos is cute too and Sawyer - traditional Bad Boy and John the dr from Lost.

Really must get myself ready for the old grind.

  2. (Note the name transition - the Eve will disappear pretty soon)

Of course DH viewing is research - as a carpenter he has an overwhelming curiousity about how things are built. ;-)

Hugh Jackman, George Clooney, James Denton, Josh Duhamel, Hugh Jackman, House, Orlando Bloom, Hugh Jackman, Sawyer, DiNoso, William Peterson, Hugh Jackman, Viggo Mortensen, Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) and have I mentioned Hugh Jackman?

  3. Viggo *sigh* Viggo

Henry Rollins (the singer/writer not the actor)

Gordon Ramsey (Hell’s Kitchen - Sure he’s mean, but when he smiles… I’m a goner)

    George Eads (CSI)

Paul Walker (8 Below, Fast and the Furious)

Mark Valley (Boston Legal - amazing jawline)

Gerard Butler (Tomb Rader 2, Phantom of the Opera)

There are loads more, but these are my current crushes…

  4. George Eads, Kiefer Sutherland, Eric Close (WITHOUT A TRACE), Rob Morrow & Patrick Dempsey to name a few. :)

  5. Hi and welcome Jill!

There are just too many to name: Hugh Jackman, Josh Holloway, Matthew McConaughey, Patrick Dempsey, Hugh Laurie, George Eads, and many, many more!!!

  6. Hi Jill! I’m with Eve/Bailey — Hugh Jackman can never be mentioned too many times! I’ll add Matthew MacFadyen to the list.

  10. George Clooney. Matthey McConahey (sp), Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Hugh Jackman…I could go on and on…..

  11. I will go with: Orlando Bloom in any movie, Heath Ledger (knight’s tale), have to agree with Clive Owen, Christian Slater in Robin Hood, Keanu Reeves, Will Smith, Denzel Washington.

  14. Boy, Sawyer sure turned around from the jerk to a seemingly likable guy. And I think him and Kate will be having a baby soon :).

  15. So Clooney is thinking about running for office? I know he’s pretty politically active, but with his party past I can’t see him going far.

  16. Sounds like Keanu did a great job in The Lake House. I am sure my wife will want to see that one. She always wants to see chick flicks. I would never see these movies by myself. But I end up liking them. :)

  17. The tabloids are saying that McConaughey and Lance Armstrong are possible gay lovers? That sounds pretty rediculous if you ask me. Just cause they are sharing a house doesn’t mean they are gay. And who cares really?

  18. game programming

    great blog, keep it comming.
