Piano Man
Last night on American Idol, not too many surprises, but a very sweet good-bye to Scott. I was glad they handled it like they did. I know it might have seemed patronizing to some, but I honestly think it was the respectful thing to do given how they’d treated him all along.
Also in the bottom three this week were Anoop and Lil, so things are starting to get interesting… The judges can only use their save for the next two weeks. Will they, won’t they…
Once again the shows producer can’t seem to manage to keep the show running on time (don’t ever put that guy in charge of an awards show) so Ryan didn’t announce the theme for next week. However, I just saw a blurb that said the guest mentor is Quentin Tarantino and the theme is Idols at the Movies. They will sing “movie themed songs” - whatever that actually means. One thing it means is that Adam is a very happy camper right about now. Singing on the results show next week is Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson.
In other news, it’s Survivor night. Merge tonight, so things should start to get really interesting. And from the preview commercials, it looks like Joe might be in medical trouble with that leg. So, we’ll see what happens there.
Also…Project Runway announced they’d be up and running with their new season, but not until August 15. What the heck? It’s already filmed. So that was kind of bogus. However, Bravo also announced it’s new fashion design show The Fashion House, hosted by Izaak Mizrahi, which debuts next month, so ha! Works for me. The commercials introduce part of the cast and it looks like it will fill the PR void quite nicely, thank you. Perhaps that’s the reason for the delay…they didn’t want to compete head to head. Sissies.
Bravo also announced a new cooking competition show…Top Chef Challenge. It will follow a tournament format, with challenges similar to Top Chef, only featuring 24 established chefs (including Wylie Dufresne and Hubert Keller) with numerous guest judges, etc. Starts in June. So maybe it won’t be a Death Valley Summer like last year after all.
And? So You Think You Can Dance jumps back in next month, too.
Right this very second, you have the chance to win free stuff, so check out Monday’s blog for the details. Winner announced right here tomorrow, along with some Survivor MAC. Good luck!
What did you think of the American Idol boot? Who should go next? The obvious bootees are gone now…so who would your next choice be? DISH!

It was Scott’s time to go. It’s a lot easier to boot off the ones you don’t like but in the end I don’t think you can pick someone you like if they aren’t up to the standard. At this point they’re all good but I have to say that Adam is great.
No surprise that Scott was voted off.
The Fashion House looks good.
Looking forward to Survivor tonight!
