So, Idol doesn’t quite have the fluff hour down as well as Dancing With the Stars does. More filler, less fluffible fun. But they try.

The group sing was choreo’d by Pauler and not horrifying, but about on par with the DWTS group dance, which is to say, once is more than enough. I did think they sang it pretty well. I mean lipped it. Still…

Then we had to watch three disco dragons come back out to play. I have no idea what Thelma Houston was wearing and yikes, KC has not gone gracefully into this good night. So that was kinda painful.

Then we just kick Lil right the hell off the show without much warning. So, um, bye? After that we find out that Matt is, somewhat surprisingly, safe. And to the surprise of almost nobody, Anoop is not. Alison rounds out the bottom three.

David Archuleta comes back to sing the most boring song on the planet, the sound all out of breath excited some more about his UK tour. he hugs the bottom feeders, and then?

We kick Anoop right to the curb on top of Lil. Figuratively speaking. In their defense, they both gave really great sing out. And I don’t know that the judges feel bad, since Matt saved himself after their save, so everyone is happy in the judgery.

We send them off with past clips and tears, then contemplate what happens now. My guess is that Matt and Alison have the biggest targets on them, given their past bottom dweller status. I’m thinking Adam, Dannyy, and Kris will stay longer. Though I’d happily swap out Danny for any of them.

My final two? Adam and…whoever kills it best the next few weeks. Right now my pick is Kris. But I could live with Matt or Alison next to him. Just not Gokey. He needs to be out no later than final three. No, really, America. Help a sister out.

(Coach, while I want him gone, is not an immunity threat.) We’ll see how that plays out.
