If it’s Tuesday, it must be…

Treasure Hunters.

I’m really trying to like this show. And it has a lot of elements I do like. The travel, the clues, the physical challenges. But the host is getting to me in a big way, and the way they have him repeatedly say his little spiel to Every. Single. Team. is monotonous bordering on annoying. Okay, crossing the border.

There are a few teams I have no problem with. Air Force plays a clean game. Ex-CIA isn’t horrible. Not keen on the Southies or USA, just meh on them. The Geniuses need to step way off on belittling their asthmatic partner. The Fogles are just plain whacko. (What is UP with the daughter? And the mother-daughter bond thing was just plain freaky. I mean, my mom and I are really close, but that? Was bizarre.) Then there’s Dad Fogle, who just thought his daughter’s repeated meltdowns were amusing. Oh yeah, there’s a dining room table I want to sit around. And a show of hands for anyone who thought the Brown Brothers would make it through any part of that swamp? Not a lot of suspense there on who was going to come in last. But..the powers that be thought it was a good episode for a “To Be Continued” anyway. Not so much, for me.

I’ll continue watching for the race itself, but, yeah…summer programming continues to be a pretty big black hole for me this season. Thank goodness for Dance. And by Dance, I mean Dmitry. :) Hey, a girl can’t have enough eye candy. Or if she can, it’s a form of sugar shock she’s willing to risk.

Project Runway returns tomorrow night and it will once again be Tim Time for me. Woot! So I remain optimistic. If anyone can save a mediocre summer of entertainment for me, it’s Tim Gunn.

…what are you watching this summer?

  1. Big Brother, Treasure Hunters, Rescue Me, The Closer, Rock Star: Supernova, Monk, Psych, Last Comic Standing and of course So You Think You Can Dance.

  2. last comic standing, a little baseball, sportscenter, many reruns, pop culture trivia, i love the 70’s volume 2, the disney channel.

  3. Oh hey, I forgot about Psych! I did catch that and really enjoyed it. I love Dule Hill and I thought the premise of the show was clever and fresh. I hope it sticks around a while.

  4. Not a darn thing. My husband takes over the remote during summer so it’s the History channel most of the time and then CNN or discovery. I must admit once in a while I enjoy it. Last night they had a great show on pirates lol.

  5. Big brother, Treasure Hunters, dateline NBC. Don’t have cable so I am pretty limited.

I was watching Treasure Hunters and thinking I can’t wait to see what Donna thinks of that Fogle daughter. What a whinner. Yikes. I will still watch it too. I agree with that guy on the phone. It was pretty much a given on the Browns. Did they think they were going to suddening get in shape on a race???

  6. I want to Fogles to go next. I don’t like any of them. I agree with you about the genuiuses (sp) guess I am not one…lol and the way they are treating the team member with astma. I bet they don’t go back for him and if so that’s so wrong.

The southie boys are a bit irritatin but they play the game pretty good and Miss USA is bettet than I would have thought they would be

It will be interesting to see what happens next.

  7. I don’t know if it my cable station or because I only have basic cable but a lot of shows I don’t get, like Psych and Rescue Me. The Closer was on for about 5 episodes in Sept. and then just stopped. I mostly just read. Like tonight the tv was only on for an hour watching Rock Star.
That’s another thing, I thought there were three members of Supernova. Last night when I had it on the tv guide channel it said Supernova: The Tommy Lee Project.

  8. Thank you, I could not have sead it better my self.
