Dancers danced, judges scored…I scratched my head. Alot.

Okay, I’ve typed this twice and both times managed to inadvertantly delete it. So, I’m all done with this review, which is fitting as the judges seem to be all done judging the contestants on the actual dances they danced, too.

In a nutshell…Melissa sat out due to rib injury and had to be judged on their rehearsal dance, a la Steve O, which…a shame, really, as it looked cute, but glad she’s still in it.

I thought Gille’s Lindy Hop was horrible and he was way, way off in the beginning and Cheryl had to work hard to get him back on track. Judges? Loved it. Ooookay.

Thought Shawn was cute but not as good as last week, Derek and Kim were very good as always, but left me cold, as always, Chuck and Julianne have totally found their groove thang and were, for me, the best dance of the night, which is such a turnaround I don’t even know what to say. Ty is still not good (we know this, buzzkill Len!) but I heart him so large that it’s not even funny how much I love him. I think the love can’t grow, but he’s such a good guy, week in, week out, it does. Worst dancer left, but the most love.

My scoring and the judges were, apparently, for different dances all together.

Then came the team dance and Team Mambo knew that Team Tango would smoke them, so went totally for the entertainment value, and, for me? I really, really enjoyed it, loved the silly ending, and found it really entertaining. Also? Kudos to Lacey for standing in for Melissa and learning that solo in ten minutes. She has upped her standing as a pro in this game by leaps and bounds over last year. Carrie Ann was a hater and Len and Bruno were all over the place and so that killed a large part of my enjoyment. Thanks, judges.

As predicted, Team Tango rocked the house, despite the fact that the band’s version of Womanizer was horrifyingly distracting. (And yet, no mention of that by the judges, who picked apart Team Mambo’s music, which I thought amped their number up greatly.) It is to shrug. And? Kim was major mistake mode in the beginning of their solo and yet? Bruno gives them a ten. It is to shrug again. And laugh. Then shrug some more.

I have no idea who will go home tonight. Ty is the obvious choice, except the love for him knows no bounds. I worry deeply for Melissa and will hate it if she goes without being there to defend their previous scores…but such is the way when it’s down to six.

If it were me, going solely on who I like to watch the least, I’d send Kim home. We all know this will not happen. I would have had Chuck in that spot, but these past two weeks have made those two way more fun for me, while Kim? The same lack of interest.

We’ll see. Tune in tonight. If you must. My enthusiasm wanes.

Also tonight? Rat Pack Week on American Idol. We’re down to five and the mind boggles a little on who will sing what. Matt should own this, Adam will always own everything, Kris will be adorable, and Alison will be in trouble. Oh yeah, and Danny will sing, too.

Don’t forget to enter this week’s free stuff giveaway - details in Monday’s post. And now? Your turn to DISH! What did you think of the judgery last night? Who goes home? Who is your fave to win…who, not so much with that?

  1. Yeah, I thought the scoring was a little weird last night. I wouldn’t mind seeing Kim go, but realistically I guess Ty will go, but boy does he try hard. It is amazing how much he has improved. Nice muscles, too! ;-)
I am loving cutie-pie Chuck and sexy Gilles! Kim is a good dancer, but I am like you, she just doesn’t interest me. Don’t know why.

Donna, I got your book in the mail yesterday. Thank you so much!

  2. I think everyone has improved greatly (some more than others lol). Unfortunately Ty still looks like a deer in headlights but I’m going to hate to see him go. Shawn just doesn’t do it for me - she doesn’t have the right body build and her dress and makeup make her look like a child dressing up. I like her personality just not her dancing. I think Kim has improved a lot but her sillyness drives me crazy. Chuck has really improved and I like him now which surprises me lol. That was too bad about Melissa but I think everyone will keep her in.

  3. I didn’t understand the scores either last night. Giles dance was off but scores well. I loved Team Mambo’s dance. I was laughing so hard at the ended. I thought they did a great job. And Team Tango how can they get a ten when Kim messed up. I don’t get it.

I would hate to see Ty go. I heart him too. I would prefer Kim to go over him.
