If it’s Wednesday, it must be Countdown to Dance time…

First I want to thank you all for blog partying with me yesterday. I had a great time, hope you all did as well - and I hope you won something, too! Keep checking out Lucy’s Blog Party all week long for chances to win all kinds of amazing great prizes. (See yesterday’s post below for a direct link to the party!)

And speaking of winning free stuff, if you haven’t already, don’t forget to enter this week’s SHaQ Attack giveaway here. See Monday’s post for all the details.

So, okay, I have a confession to make. I know that tonights Dance episode was actually taped on Monday. And I know a place where I can find out exactly what happened. Normally I hate spoilers (and no fears, I am not going to spoil anything here) but I’ve done this for the past two weeks now and have actually kind of enjoyed knowing ahead of time who is going to be paired with whom and what dance styles they get. I just anticipate seeing it even more. Oh, I can share one thing, which isn’t giving anything away in terms of who, what, what kind, etc - really - but I did find out that there will be two dances for each duo tonight, but no solos. Which I’m actually really grateful for. We get to see almost everyone perform again tomorrow night anyway, doing the same solos, so it keeps it from being repetitive like it was last week. So good move!

Anyway, back to finding out stuff in advance. I normally don’t like to know anything in advance, but the fact that I’m sort of enjoying this spoilering thing has made me wonder about all that. I know there are a lot of readers who read the end of the book first. I even know writers who have to write the last scene or chapter of their book first. I can’t imagine doing either of those things. But for some readers and writers, it’s the only way.

So, tell me….are you a “last chapter first” type? And if so…what is it about knowing the end first that is so appealing to you?

Happy Humpty Day all! Check back tomorrow…It’ll be Dance MAC central!

  1. I will occassionally read the last few pages first…my family teases me about this. I don’t mind spoilers.

  2. It depends on the book. If it a suspense I read the last couple pages to confirm if my suspicions are correct or not. Besides that I usually try not to read the last pages first.

  3. Hey Donna–

No I don’t read the ending first…what’s the fun in that? LOL

What no Last Comic Standing Mac? I watched last night but ony caught three of the four performers. I missed the girl. Of the three I saw I would vote for either Ty or Josh Blue which kind of surprises me because I haven’t really liked him all that much up until now. I didn’t really care for Chris Porter’s performance at all. Don’t think he did anything memorable.

  4. I never read the last page or chapter first. That would spoil the story for me.

Josh and Ty were terrific last night! I thought both Chris and Michelle were off a bit.

  5. Hi Barbara! Well, I haven’t really been MACing it, but my son and I watched it last night (and after my blog about stand up at Lucy’s yesterday, maybe I should have MAC’d it today! LOL)

Spence and I both agree that Ty seems to have the most solid sets of material and the most comfortable delivery. He looks rock solid up there. Josh is incredibly charming and very funny as well, but perhaps still trying a bit too hard, which is certainly understandable, but still puts him in second place for me (surprisingly, because he was my fave.)

And I totally agree on Chris - the energy he has is really negative and just kind of off. He was better last night than last week, but still doesn’t pull me in or make me laugh outloud. I don’t feel comfortable during his sets. Michelle is moderately okay, but definitely last in this particular group. I think she’ll go home next week. I’d like to think Chris would go next, but you never know.

And in a finale between Josh and Ty? It’s a toss up for me, but I’m betting Josh gets the “heeeeyyy little buuuddy!” vote. (God, that bit still cracks me up.)

The last two weeks will be fun to watch.

  6. Not really. It kills the suspense if I know how it’s all going to end. But I do cheat sometimes when the book is exceptionally long.

  7. no i do not. it is more fun reading the beginning lol

  8. If it’s a suspense, I try not to, but I’ve picked up too many categories lately that have bored me, so sometimes I’ll read the ending and if I like that, then I’ll buy the book.

    You’re sneaky. :)

  9. Moi? *looks around, blinks innocently…*

Actually, I have no ulterior motive here. I’m truly just curious.

But for you spoiler fans, if you want to know who dances with whom tonight and what dance styles they get, email me and I’ll share what I know.

I’m so easy like that. :)

  10. Oh, never, ever ever would I want to know the ending.

  11. I never read the ending first. What fun is that?

  12. No I never read the ending,it would be such a let down knowing what happens,if you know then what’s the point of reading the whole book then.
With knowing the dance partners I don’t mind that because it doesn’t give away who is in the bottom, just gives some anxiety as to how they will do if there partnered with a bad match or vice a versa.
