New week…new free stuff!
But first!
Amazing Race…you know, I thought that was kind of a fun hour. I really enjoyed the camaraderie between the teams at their eat/sleep/mingle layover. I thought it was hilarious when the bros felt compelled to share their Big Secret, and one of them comments on how even their family friends don’t know…and Poker Tiffany goes, “Well, they do now!” Ha! Then Gary totally cracked me up by adding, “I guess this is where I tell Matt he’s adopted…” I just enjoyed, for once, a crew that seems to race for the sake of racing, and not for the sake of being Team Nasty and overly preoccupied with the other teams.
Also loved how one of Team Gay Bros said how the one name he knows of the other teams is “BRIAN!” from hearing it yelled out all the time…only for the editing monkeys to help us out by showing his wife yelling after him yet again. Double ha! And you know, yes, she can get a might overdone, but it’s fatiguing, emotionally and physically, what they’re doing, and I don’t know that it was that annoying to me, overall. I do, however, have big heart love for Brian and how beautifully he handled the situation where she could not get past the bell counting task. Even with everything else going on, he came through there, big time. And I think that is definitely their nature - and when they finally got to the dancing part and mellowed out again, just proved that to me. So the occasional BRIAN! doesn’t really bother me too much. I was glad they were able to stay in.
And just when I was starting to think the Team Poker Chicks were okay…well, Tiffany anyway. You gotta admit Maria is a waste as a partner even before their big collapse last night - they end up collapsing for good. It’s never good when Phil comes to you, instead of you to him. But I have to say, they didn’t tank. They certainly, especially Tiffany, gave it all they had. I didn’t see them getting through it, either. (Even to find out if it was a non-elim leg…)
To that end, I was a bit surprised when both detours required physical strength in order to complete the task. The girls seemed, somewhat screwed no matter what. I was kind of hoping the Globetrotters would show up while they were on the hammer thing and maybe help them out a little. So, not a good detour, show!
The Globetrotters, however, were hilarious last night. I laughed out loud throughout the whole dance segment. Ha! And Ha! again! It was all pretty good, actually!
Looking forward to next week when they get to Blow Things Up…and the return of the Infamous Hay Bales! Yikes!!!
Okay, now on to the Fun Free Stuff Friday portion of our blog. Just send an email to donna@donnakauffman.com with Me, me, me! in the subject line, and you’ll be eligible to win a free advance review copy of my February book, Here Comes Trouble!! Woo hoo!
For those who are interested in signed copies of current releases, I will be doing a booksigning this coming Saturday, November 7 at Turn The Page Bookstore in Boonsboro, Md. Festivities start at 1pm and run until the line runs out. Click on the store name link there and you can get all the details. Including the info on the virtual signing they hold each time they run an event. This allows anyone to preorder any of the books being signed by any attending author (did I mention I was signing with Nora Roberts???) and have it signed at the event, then mailed directly to them afterward. And, you know, Christmas is coming. Stockings need stuffers…. Just sayin!
Hope you all have a great start to your week. It’s finally stopped raining here. The sun is out, and it’s gorgeous with the trees in vivid shades of gold and red, and the river running full and strong along my jogging trail every morning.
But, no time for running right now..because it’s time to DISH! Who do you want to see win? Who needs to go home next on the Raaaaace? And what about tonight? Dancing!! I’m hoping Russell picks something closer to his range because I’m still not over that bottom four placement. Nigel. What do you think? Any early favorites??

The globetrotters cracked me up with the dancing. I did enjoy the group layover. Its nice to see that they can put the race aside for a bit.
That was a hard leg for the woman I thought.
No team really gets on my nerves so it would be tough to pick
Hope you get invited back in December! Love the race! I put my email in for the book!
