Double Blog Tuesday!

Yes, that’s right, it’s a Doublemint kinda day here in Blog Babe Central. In addition to todays scintillating blog post here (hey, I heard that!) you can also hop over to Brava Authors and see my insightful commentary on the debut of my favorite sport. Yes, I’m talking about Survivor.

It goes without saying that we aren’t going to talk about sweaty people being forced to endure heartless conditions and the occasional really rude teammate, not to mention ingesting disgusting creepy crawly things in order to win a million dollars. No, no, no. Here in BBC Land, we’re going to celebrate our more refined, aesthetic taste. Yes, of course I’m talking about Dancing with the Stars!

The oddsmakers (who apparently, even with the launch of both pro and college football, have nothing better to do) actually came out with their odds yesterday on who is the favorite to win this season. Mario Lopez (of Saved By the Bell Fame) is the odds on favorite with 3-1 odds. Viveca A. Fox and Monique Coleman (who is she?) follow at 4-1 and 9-2 respectively.

In the middle of the pack are Joey Lawrence (4-1), former LA Law castmate and personal castmate to last season contestant Lisa RinnaHarry Hamlin (13-2), rocker Willa Ford (9-1), country singer Sara Evans (10-1), and this season’s sports figure, Emmett Smith (14-1.)

At the bottom, MSNBC news anchor Tucker Carlson and former Miss USA and soon-to-be divorced in true ugly Hollywood fashionShanna Moakler were both given 23-to-1 odds. But at the very very bottom, which, considering he is a bottom feeder himself seems quite appropriate (can you tell I’m realllllly not happy with this casting?) is talk show host Jerry Springer at 49-to-1. We can only pray they are dead on with that last prediction and he goes home this week, freeing us all up to enjoy the remainder of the season.

The same betting agency picked third runner up Stacy Kiebler to win last year. So, you might want to read some tea leaves or something first before making any bets of your own. Me, I’m playing for a triple scoop sundae of my favorite ice cream. Chocolate cookie dough rules. But we hedge our bets here by allowing one night of viewing before choosing favorites.

Tomorrow we’ll gab and dish here on who we think will win and post our own Blog Babe Odds! (I mean, we knew Drew was a lock early on last season. Come on! The betting agencies should just read my blog.)

  1. I am sooooo looking forward to tonight!

  2. WooHoo! Two things to enjoy - I’m healthy again and the new season is finally going to start!

  3. how fun

  4. I do admit I seem to care about who wins on “Dancing With the Stars”…which premiers tonight yay! It’ll be worth it just to get to watch Harry Hamlin.
And what is with Joey’s shaved head? Did he lose a bet? :(

  5. Joey shaved off all that beautiful hair? What’s up with that? And yes, tonight will be like having dessert. For two hours. :)

  6. God knows how I love my dessert!!! Are you sure that’s Joey Lawrence?

  7. Oh, yeah! It’s Joey!

  8. Oh, what a turn off - why did Joey cut off that beautiful hair.

Cant wait for tonite. I absolutely love this show and figured Viveca and Mario would be favs. Maybe Joey too. Will have to see how they actually dance. Harry has Ashley DelGrosso for a partner - they should be good.

  9. I was wondering the same thing about Joey’s hair…what happened?

  10. Ooh, Ashley finally gets a good partner. Yay! Joey, Joey, Joey…I’m guessing the head buzz went along with his preference to be called Joseph now. Please. We love you as Joey, gorgeous mane and all. We don’t care if you’re 28 or 58. Joey you’ll always be. Deal with it already. :)

  11. Well JOSEPH just tore it up on the dance floor! :)

  12. And what about Emmitt?

And when did JOEY get those arms?

  13. Ah Joey… I miss the hair!!! But the arms almost make up for it *g*

  14. I didnt notice - did Joey introduce himself as Joseph??? I believe the show calls him Joey?
And yes those arms! I thought Joey did pretty well. He is 30 now and recently married his h.s. I think sweetheart.

As no shock, Mario did great, Emmit was v.g. and I also enjoyed Viveca. Harry was stiff and that report was horrid. Even Springer was better than him.

I voted my 11 times on the computer. I split it between Joey, Mario, Viveca and Emmit because I want to see them all hang around. I figured Mario will get the most votes.

  15. I think it’s too bad Joey-Joseph shaved his hair,I think he needs to realize that a name change and hair dissappearance isn’t going to make him a more serious grown-up actor,a good role with good acting is the only way to accomplish that.
