More Idol, More….well, more.
AI Night 2: The Auditions. Hello, Atlanta…hello, guest judge Mary Blige. I’m enjoying the guest-judgery so far. The singers? About half. (I’m being generous.) I did adore church boy, Jermaine and could root for him. The girl from Vonore…it was a sweet, touching victory, but wow, what a huge learning curve to be thrust into. And, is it me, or is it looking like 10-1 girls to guys? (And wow, the Maybelline BFF Twins? Entertaining.) Chicago up next. Get your pants off the ground!
(And I’m so terribly sorry….but in the clips for next week when Simon asked the guy if, when he sang, small animals just started showing up around the house? I laughed. A lot.)
In other news, I have a new favorite tv show. Author pal o’ mine turned me on to the TNT series, Leverage. And all I have to say is…where the heck were you with the recommends while we were in rerun holiday hell? When I had TIME to catch up on 23 shows. Come on! That said? This series is a solid entry right up my Burn Notice/Castle/Mentalist you-can-too-have-fun-while-solving-crime path. Timothy Hutton & Co. welcome to my TiFaux Must See list. One of the better surprises about this series is the casting of Sophie. I was a diehard fan of the BBC show Coupling, so it was great to see Gina Bellman on this side of the pond. Adore her. (And I’m only half way through season 1, blog babes, so no spoilering!)

As an Atlanta girl myself, I was distressed to see us represented by so many contestants with hick accents. I don’t know anybody who talks like that, but if you watched Idol you will think that we all do. Anyway, I’m afraid the “country” contestants will get eaten alive in Hollywood. Get ready for the tears.
