The morning after…
Well, that wasn’t the most entertaining Monday night game. And not just because we lost. Booorrrring. Ah well, nice to see Big Ben back on the field. Now he just needs to settle down a little and find his groove. Golf clap for Jacksonville for finding some way to score. God knows I was beginning to wonder if anybody could.
I also TiFaux’d Studio 60 and, while it was nice to see Matthew Perry and a lot of my fave West Wing alumni, I can’t say the show really grabbed me. Maybe my hopes were set too high? I’ll give it another few tries, but, though some of the dialogue was quintessential Aaron Sorkin, I was left feeling mostly kind of meh.
On the other hand, I did finally get around to watching my tape of the series premiere of Men in Trees. Now, I am really not an Anne Heche fan. Like some of you with Mario, I find it hard to separate her on screen persona from her off screen “highlights.” But I did enjoy the show and the premise, and the gorgeous scenery was a nice bonus. The hunky forest ranger being part of that gorgeous scenery didn’t hurt matters any, either. I think the overall premise would be more satisfying with, oh, any other actress in the lead role, but that’s just my personal bias. She did a fine job with it. I know the ratings haven’t been wonderful (Friday night time slot doesn’t help matters any) but I’ll keep up with it for a bit. I have the second show on tape and it will definitely get a look. I’m sure once I commit to it, it will get cancelled, as, such is my luck, but it’s nice to have a show that isn’t about crimes being committed, people bleeding all over the ER, or families in trauma. In fact, I really wish we had more of this type of show. Fun, light, happy, and not a half hour sitcom format. It’s why I enjoyed Psych for its summer run.
So…other than our reality show fix, what new shows have you hooked so far? And what favorites are you excited to see return? For me, numero uno is tonight, with Boston Legal. For new shows, I plan to give Smith a look. What do you have circled in the TV Guide?

What is it about those Reality shows that grab you (and me)? DWTS is a must tonight then a little Law and Order SVU with the hunky Christopher Meloni.
I personally can’t wait to see the new show Jericho. It looks interesting and a bit different from the normal line up. DWTS is always a favorite of mine as well. Also, Nip/Tuck just started back up. Men In Tree’s so far is ok, but like you said probably won’t last. By the way I love your books!
Tonight is a three VCR evening with Boston Legal, Law and Order SVU, Smith and Nip/Tuck all on at the same time!

I agree about the game. I’m surprised Ben was even playing. They said he had a 104 temperature!
I also was looking for to watching Studio 60. I like anything Matthew Perry is in. I’m going to give the show another chance. Sometimes the first show tries to do too much.

I liked Men In Trees a lot,the extra characters were interesting and funny.So like you said it will probably get cancelled,lol.
Besides my Reality shows,Lost and Prison Break. I really like Vanished,and I’m also looking forward to Jericho,Smith,The Nine,Heroes,and Ugly Betty looks like it might be funny[we'll see]It’s a good thing we have a few TV’s and VCR’S to watch everything,lol.

I have been watching the new shows, Vanished and Justice…they are pretty good. I am looking forward to seeing if Heroes, Jericho, and Shark are any good.
As for old faves, I love House, Criminal Minds, and the CSIs.

I’m not the biggest TV watcher these days. A lot of shows just don’t interest me. However, I am looking forward to the new season of Lost.
I tried watching Studio 60 last night, but I abandoned it after 30 minutes… it just didn’t work for me. Oh well. I much prefer a good book over television any more (you wouldn’t have heard me say that 5 years ago!).
Bummer on the Steeler game. I think they shouldn’t have started with Ben. They always could have put him in later. And yeah it was 100.4 temp. lol.
I’m so upset that some shows are all on at the same time. Especially Survivor and NICS across from Greys. I’ll be lucky to get one taped and we may have to go out but I cant chose just one.
I found out last year I try making all these tapes but then I never have a chance to get to them. I’m also technically challenged and don’t always get the shows I’m trying to tape.
Okay I got that wrong. NICS and The Unit are against Dancing with the Stars. Survivor and CSI are against Greys. Argghhhhhh.
I thought tonight was the new gilmore (was wrong, guess its next week). Watched the Dallas Stars preseason game (though they played my guy last night on the game with NO tv or radio coverage grrr), watching the end of DWTS right now.
I like Men In Trees, I think its my fave new show of the season
