The results are in…

Last night on Dancing With the Stars… and Maks! we find out who, if anyone, is going home this week.

First, to the surprise of no one, Mario and Karina get the encore and it’s well deserved. ( I do wonder how come they get decent music and Joey gets George Michael and Monique gets the freaking Jackson 5 for a latin number?) Anyway, the two of them looked like they were having even more fun tonight with the judging pressure off and I sure do wish I liked them more than I do. They looked really great.

We also get Lionel Richie singing my favorite song of his All Night Long (that was such an up beat video, I still remember that all these years later.) Anyway, the most important part of Lionel’s guest appearance is that /singsong voice/ Ma-aaks! /end singsong voice/ is dancing while he is singning. Yay!

You know, Lionel is looking pretty good, like he hasn’t aged a day. Sounded pretty good, too (although the music sounded off track in the beginning.) And now this is a good popular song that works well on this show - how come they didn’t get this one in competition, huh? Anyway, Mak’s chest enters the dance floor and I must watch now. No typing. Where is my ice cream?

Shew! That was very much exactly what this show needs every single night. And you know, Karina is probably the only one how can out Mak’s Maks when it comes to being a showboat. When they dance, I really enjoy it because they match each other extremely well and she doesn’t let him upstage her. Everyone was dancing in the audience, all 4 dancers looked like they were having a total blast. That? Rocked. The. House.

Ugh, then we go to Sam backstage being, well, Sam. Please, she’s a sweetheart, but get someone next season who can interview and adlib. Pretty please? With Maks on top? (Whoops!)

Safe couples this week? Mario & Karina (Yeah, I”m stunned.) But on a brighter note, Monique & Louis! get to stay, too. Yay!! Good job, America.

Oooh, we get Nick and his wife, Elena dancing for us tonight. Cool! Even if they didn’t look altogether thrilled by it. What was up with the prune face, Nick?

They are lovely together, as always, but I have to say, Nick? Leave the leather pants for Maksim, k? I liked the last part best, when they danced together. Very well matched.

Lionel opens his songs in a way maybe he shouldn’t, but once he gets going, he’s lovely to listen to. Very enjoyable. Thanks, L.

Now we get a behind the scenes on the costumes they wear on the show each week and WOW! I had NO idea they make those outfits from scratch each week. And the work that goes into them. Even with a whole team of bedazzlers, I’d never manage that. Dang, y’all. The designer, Randall Christensen, is the same guy from Ballroom Bootcamp, so it was cool to see him again. And seeing the sketches, it was like DWtS’s meets Project Runway (which, btw, I won’t get to tonight as it’s already after 1am as I am typing this - and I just KNOW I’ll find out who won before I get a chance to watch tomorrow. Ack!) Anyway - cool segment! Wish they’d shown this sooner. Much respect.

Another couple moves on…Cheryl & Emmitt!

Which leaves Joey and Jerry in the bottom two. Will they send a team home this week? Jerry has pretty much asked to go home and I think maybe his way over the top routine was intended to push things too far….but did it work? I’d hate to see Joey go home tonight. (I still think because of Sarah’s departure, they both stay…)

And? Neither team goes home! Awww, Jerry. He won’t quit, but I think his body has really had enough of this. Poor guy!

I am glad they competed as if they might go home, so they’d know who ranked in the bottom two - so we’d know who we need to vote for if we disagree and they’d know how America was voting (or not) for them. So the right way to handle it, I think, but….poor Jerry.

Sam announces they will combine the scores from this week (judges and America) and add them to next week - so look out, Joey!

The good news is that a whole lotta Blog Babes picked “no one” in their SHaQ Attack votes this week, so all of you who did are officially in the drawing for the free book! Woot!

(And, depending on who has watched Project Runway, even more of you might be in the running. I’ll find out later today!)

So…what did you think? And will Jerry finally go home next week?

Discuss!

  1. thanks for the update I had to work last night so I missed it. But I can watch the tape after work later. Can’t wait to see Lionel and Mak. Hugs

  2. It was soooo good to Maks! Lionel Richie must have found the Fountian of Youth, he still looks and sounds like he did when All Night Long first came out.

I like the way they handled the “who will go home” part too, it seems a fair solution.

I’ve never been any good at guessing and I’m proving it by going 0 for 2 so far. :( On the bright side the Steelers look like they are back on track!

  3. That should be Fountain of Youth. There are some days when I just can’t spell right no matter what. Ugh!

  4. i think jerry, but he is so cool

  5. Stick a fork in poor Jerry because he is done.

  6. Yes, I agree - Jerry didn’t look so great this week. But I guessed No One so woohoo so far. And horray for the Steelers.

  7. I, too, chose no one to go home. I thought it was pretty obvious all thru the show that they really weren’t going to eliminate anyone.

I really want Jerry to go home. I don’t think he’s going to be able to survive 2 real dances (that disco group thing didn’t really count) this next week. I’m liking Monique and cheering for her since she’s the only female celeb left (although her costume this week was WAY distracting).

  8. Aww, someone else who loves Maks! :) Of course, how can you not adore a guy who has 2 cats, a dog & says things like “plants always get hurt”

I didn’t plan to watch DWTS again after Maks/Willa were unfairly eliminated, but if I can get more Maks - they just might keep me!!
