It’s Tuesday and there’s no dancing…

Pout! No sparring partners, no ridiculous music, no namby pamby judges scores! Whatever shall we do?

Yes, I’m going through Dancing with the Stars withdrawal. Sad, isn’t it? I need more chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream to help me through this trying time. (Okay, it sounded like a good reason. Do I need a reason?)

So, while we’re talking about food…It’s two days to Turkey Day!

As I collect the ingredients to make my annual round of pumpkin pie (which goes really well with ice cream, by the way. What? I was just sayin’.) I ponder…what is the one Must Have Dish you look forward to every year on Thanksgiving?

For me, it’s a baked cheese grits casserole. Mmmmmmm. Okay, and pumpkin pie. And mulled cider. And…. Well, now I’m hungry.

Okay, I heard that! :)

Happy Danceless Tuesday y’all!

  1. Stuffing, homemade bread and all the desserts of course

  2. Stuffing and pie are what I look forward to. Unfortunately I won’t be eating anything but soup. I’m very sick. Maybe I can eat a turkey sandwich…

  3. All the yummy delectables, but especially homemade apple pie.

  4. Pumpkin pie and mom’s homemade stuffing.

  5. Sweet Potatoes with marshmallows on top.

  6. The running joke in my house is “Oh look, its Thanksgiving..Mamma is finally cooking!”
    :P
In our house we always have my nearly-famous Rockefeller Dressing made with oysters and spinach and sweet potato souffle with a brown sugar and pecan topping. And dessert is chocolate chess pie, which is like a chocolate pecan pie.

And Donna, I am with you…definate DWtS withdrawals. But Greys Anatomy is an extended special length this Thursday so at least I have something to look forward to!

  7. Thanksgiving would feel wrong without stuffing and pies. There is too much work to do to miss the dancing tonight. I think I’ll notice it next week.

  8. I look forward to the pumpkin pie, too! I enjoy the sweet potatoes the way my mom cooks them.

  9. Turkey, turkey, turkey. Other than Christmas, this is the one day of the year I can count on getting turkey for dinner!

  10. Stuffing first - I could live on it. That’s my contribution this year.

  11. I miss my dancing too. NO Mak no Emmitt what is a girl to do. Pass the cake.

I love the stuffing and the cranberries.

  12. Stuffing, cranberry sauce and turkey. Oh, and pie. It’s just not thanksgiving without pie.

DWtS is airing here in Australia now, so will definately be recording lots of Maks and the rest of the team. Donna if you missed any shows and want copies made, let me know :)

  13. Okay, rule to self: Do not ask blog babes to post lists of yummy food before shopping when hungry! lol Love the responses! My waistline may not thank you, but I do!

  14. The homemade pumpkin pie. My dh is making them today and that means the house will smell so great and yes it will be hard to resist them.

  15. Mmm turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes :o) And my dad’s favorite lemon/pineapple/carrot salad yummy. Though I have to wait another month for Xmas since we had thanksgiving last month *sniffle*
