Trifecta Night!

I think Thursdays are my new favorite night. It’s Trifecta Night for me…and with all my other shows gone, except Race, it’s my one night to be a total television junkie. (No, I do not want a 12 Step Program for this. I’ve earned my one night of total escape, dammit, and I’m going to wallow in it. Now, where’s my ice cream scoop?)

So, Survivor, Grey’s, topped off by my absolute favorite guilty pleasure, Men in Trees. (I’m torn between wanting Jack, and my very own Plow Guy…. Decisions, decisions…)

Thursdays are also my favorite night because a bunch of my co-workers and I have started having Grey’s Night after work. For those of you who don’t know, I also run the education program at a local craft store here. My instructors and I spend a lot of time working on the projects that we teach, and consequently, little time on our own. So when we discovered our joint love of Grey’s, and realized we happened to have this huge television set in our lovely, big classroom (for showing craft how-to videos) we decided to start getting together on Thursdays to watch Grey’s, snack on whatever we brought with us to share (this is quickly becoming a critical part of our enjoyment of the evening, to the surprise of absolutely no one, as we’re all foodies, too) and work only on our own projects. No store projects allowed.

Our little group has quickly grown to include a number of our regular students/customers (well, Doris had the daquiri blender, so we could hardly say no) and everyone gets in on discussing McDreamy, and now, McTreemy as well. Then I head home to watch my tape of Survivor, usually with my night owl youngest for additional social commentary, and write up my MAC for Friday morning.

I so look forward to Thursdays and think we all need our version of a Grey’s Night Out. But I also get a great deal of pleasure from our Friday Morning Survivor MAC Klatch here. I only wish we could all get together in person as well. Just think of the breakfast/brunch snacks we could share! (Who has the cappucino maker?)

Don’t forget to enter the SHaQ Attack contest this week if you haven’t. See Tuesday’s post for the details. I’ll announce the winner tomorrow, along with some Survivor MAC. Who will be voted out tonight? It’s getting down to the wire!

Also, I’m guest blogging today over on the Brava Authors site. Come join me!

  1. No wonder you allowed Doris join your group. ;) Unfortunately Grey’s Anatomy is a repeat tonight but, Men in Trees is new.

I am now hooked on Bravo’s Top Chef. It is on in Project Runways time slot.

Oh, my hunky UPS guy stopped in yesterday but, it was only to deliver a package. Darn!

  2. Plow Guy!! I love him. I thought no one else would share that fascination. He is not drop-dead good looking, but he has that indefineable (undefineable?)something that just gets me! I have liked him since the episode (was it the first one?) where he sprayed the agent with snow when she wouldn’t move. :P
    Best. Scene. Ever!

Grey’s night sounds like lots o’ fun.
Yep! Thursdays are definately my favorites, except I watch Ugly Betty.
We don’t pick up CBS too clearly, so I rarely watch any CBS shows…or NBC for that matter since we don’t pick that up at all.

ABC is the only clear network we get without satellite because the Dish Network Nazis say we should be able to pick up local stations with an antennae. Hel-lo???
I live in a valley. Hence the name of the town,
Pine Mountain VALLEY. If I could get those stations with an antennae, would I be asking you for satellite access? :(

  3. Hi Angie - that used to be the rule here, too, re: local network channels, but they changed the rule (law?)a few years ago here, so now we can get local networks as well as all the rest. (I have Dish, too.) I wonder if that’s a regional thing?

And boo hiss, I forgot Grey’s was on its holday hiatus. Ah well, maybe I’ll make more progress on getting my holiday gifts done, then. lol How did Christmas get to be less than three weeks away???

  4. Oh - and yes, I’ve loved Plow Guy since the beginning, too. I think he’s totally hot. Manly man and all that. In addition to being adorable as all get out. I loved the whole MapQuesting thing. Be still my romance writers/readers heart - the writers on Men in Trees totally Get It when it comes to writing romance. I’m glad they already had their holiday break. :)

  5. Did y’all see the previews for tonights Men in Trees? It has Jack’s old girlfriend!

  6. I loved plowguy and the mapquest, that was just so cute! Iffy on looking forward to tonight’s ep, because of jack’s old girlfriend. Maybe I’ll tape it and fast fwd through her parts :)

  7. Wasn’t Justine Bateman from Family Ties playing Jack’s old girlfriend last night?

  8. Yes, that was her. Not liking how the episode played out though.
