Too many projects, not enough days…
How did it get to be less than two weeks before Christmas already? Why didn’t anyone, you know, tell me? I need more ice cream if I’m going to get through this and even attempt to get everything done in time. And a lot less sleep. Oh wait, I already gave that one up. Figures.
At least I’ll have something to watch tonight that’s NOT a repeat. Is there a law that says only regular people have to work through the holidays? Actors and school children get a break. And the only reason Survivor isn’t a repeat tonight is because they filmed that show months ago anyway. I think I want to be an actor when I grow up. I could use a break right about now. Maybe I’d get the rest of my gifts done in time.
So, for background noise while slaving over hot glue guns, yards of ribbon, stacks of paper mache, rubber stamps, various inks and paints, and scissors that cut metal (yes, they let me near sharp objects with a deadline looming…it’s insanity really, I could take someone’s eye out. Namely mine.) I rented some movies. Devil Wears Prada, Mrs. Henderson Presents, and Pirates of the Caribbean for starters. A little fashion, a little British humor, and a lot of Johnny Depp. All I need is a side of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, and I’m set.
But first, Survivor. We go from 6 to 5 tonight, leading into Sunday’s mega-hour finale. (And then what? Nothing new until 2007? This is not okay. I may be forced to rent Miami Vice and Talladega Nights just to cope. It’s those Ferrell boys…or is it Farrell boys. Why do they spell their last name differently? I don’t get it. What? What do you mean Will and Colin aren’t brothers. Can’t you see the family resemblance? No, I will not put the glue gun down!)
So, with the way things are going back on the island, one would think it would be Adam going home tonight. But, you know, what if he wins immunity? Parvati maybe? Or will Ozzy flip? Or will Yul and Becky finally figure out they need to think past the Aitu 4? And what about Sundra, people? What about Sundra?
You know, maybe I’ll just scrap the whole gift projects thing, get a pint of Ben and Jerry’s, a big spoon, and watch the repeat of Men In Trees. It’s a good repeat tonight. One of my favorite episodes to date. If you’ve never watched, well, it’s kind of quirky and a lot sexy, but tonight is as good a place as any to fall in love with Elmo. And Jack. And Plow Guy. I really want a Plow Guy. (Any man who would read romance novels to me in bed is my kind of guy. And if he happened to have a voice like Jack’s? I’d give up ice cream for life.)
It’s still a SHaQ Attack week! Don’t forget to get your first vote in by 8pm EST tonight! Even if you don’t watch Survivor, hey, you have a one in six chance of getting it right anyway, so what have you got to lose? See Tuesday’s post for all the details!
Tune in tomorrow for all the MAC, and maybe a few sighs about those Men of Alaska.
