So, first, Amazing Race last night. Really, show? REALLY? You can’t spare a non elimination leg when it’s Mallory and Pops, but you’ll give one to Nick/Vicky? Now, Vicky? She deserved to stay in. Girl hung in there. Nick? Wow. There are no words, and yet, many, many words I could use. Just….not in public.

I’m guessing Nick’s background, maybe not the best? And Vicky gets this about him? But what made me ever-so-thankful was when she FINALLY said to him something along the lines of, “I know you want to be better, but the sorry’s aren’t enough. I need to see you change.” And….? He can’t. I do realize he gets that he’s being a total ass afterwards, but his behavior is belittling and abusive and being sorry doesn’t count. No one deserves to be talked to like that. NO ONE. That she’s quite definitely the best thing that ever happened to him, there’s no question. And that’s definitely going to hold true now that everyone has seen his lovely behavior on national television. I would hope that watching himself last night, berating her for not racing hard enough, then after she literally gives everything she has, including an internal organ or two, HE’s the one who gives up. You could do better, Miss Vicky, but I suspect you know that.

Nick? You couldn’t. You idiot.

Otherwise, very enjoyable, tough leg. Thomas and Jill are much easier to take when they’re doing well on the race. That said, I was thrilled when Team Docs and Team Home Shoppers continued to dominate. I’d be quite happy with a win from either of those teams. And though the Docs haven’t seemed to succumb to race fatigue, which earns them massive kudos from this viewer, Team BAM has. But you do kind of get Bam’s frustration with a partner who is clearly not her match, but yet…will take a watermelon to the face and keep going — which Bam also gets. Being part energizer bunny myself, I know it can be frustrating, even as I totally get that not everyone can go full tilt one hundred percent of the time. But with the end of the race looming, I’d be more amped, too. I’m glad they hugged it out and that she’s doing her best to deal with her quickly fading partner.

So…Man Candy Monday. This week is a bit different, Blog Babes. You know how we all like the candy for our eyes, but a man who can make us laugh might just be the sexiest thing ever? Well, one man who made me laugh passed away yesterday and took a bit of that laughter with him. So, today, my Man Candy is? Leslie Nielson. RIP, Shirley.
