Good morning readers! And bakers! And crafters!
Good morning blog babe readers and bakers!
If you’ve tuned in for some Castle MAC, a tennis update, or just a link to the next chapter in my exciting adventure into the world of baking, you’ll have to keep the cupcake tins warm for a little while longer! Due to deadlines for just about everything plus five more happening this week, I will be posting infrequently this week.
Just what are the deadlines, you ask? Well, for those of you who have read SOME LIKE IT SCOT, and the follow up, my current release, OFF KILTER. and have been asking …yes, I’m almost finished with Shay’s story! Woo hoo! Look for that in this fall’s Christmas anthology, UNWRAPPED! (My editor, however, will be looking for it on her desk February 1st!)
My other deadline? Well, some of you know that in addition to spending my days playing with imaginary amazing hot Scots in kilts and baking the occasional three dozen cupcakes…I also teach craft classes at a local shop, Angela’s Happy Stamper, in Reston Va.
So I thought I’d share with you a few photos of the mini album project I designed and am teaching this week. It’s a small canvas covered binder filled with chipboard and canvas pages and little windowed kraft envelopes that I’ve altered into a little minibook for photos, journaling, etc, using another one of the ridiculously gorgeous paper collections designed by Graphic 45. (And yes…for those who have asked, I occasionally have class kits left over. They are all packaged with full color, step by step photos and very detailed instructions. It’s like…I’m a writer or something, they’re so detailed. Email me at donna@donnakauffman.com if you have questions!) Click on the photos for a closeup.
A lot of fun to make! I love pretty papers!
And, if your baking fingers are twitching, you can look for the next cupcake adventure this Thursday. And yes! That does give you two whole additional days to enter the contest posted in last Tuesday’s Cakes by the Cup Blog! What? You haven’t entered? Well, click here, scroll down, and enter for your chance to win a copy of the cookbook I used in last week’s recipe - Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes! Winner announced Thursday!
Just to whet your appetite for this week’s adventurous recipe, here’s a photo of what’s coming…
Yes, this week’s adventure? The one where I learn to use a pastry bag! Okay, okay…the one where I tried to use a pastry bag…
Hey, it’s a journey…
Then come back here and DISH! Did you SEE that smoking hot kiss between Castle and Beckett last night? Wow-wow-wow! Are you watching Masterpiece Theater’s Downton Abbey and wishing you could go play in that kinda castle? Me, too!

Oh yes Donna! I loved that kiss last night…it was hot!! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
OMG! That is BEAUTIFUL! Very Anne Griffin! I wish I lived close to VA!!!!!!!! I have to pass this along to my girlfriend, she would love to figure out how to make that. Do you have packs to sell? with instructions? I would love to get that from you or the store for her birthday!
