Buh bye, Brandon…

So, forgetting your words is okay if you’re Hayley and Simon makes you cry tears of exhausted relief, but not okay if you’re perpetually smiley and upbeat. Anyway, though we all would have rather seen Sanjaya go home than just about anybody, it wasn’t exactly a huge shock that Brandon made his exit Wednesday night. At least Sanjaya finally hit the bottom two, so there is hope.

Next week? I hear the theme is British Invasion, with Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits fame as the mentor. If this is true, I refuse to get excited. After what they did to Diana Ross songs, I’ll just wait over here with my expectations carefully shelved if you don’t mind.

No Survivor last night thanks to March Madness. Pout. And you know I’m a big basketball fan, but hey, Grey’s Anatomy could put on a new episode, so what gives with not putting up a new one till next Wednesday? This Wednesday would have been just fine, thank you very much. Speaking of Grey’s…great episode. More like the good ol Grey’s. Well, except for that last scene. I could have gone a really (really) long time without them going there, except we all had to see that one coming a mile away with all the Izzy build up. Ugh. Seriously.

On the Good News front, Amazing Race is Sunday night, aaaaaand, Dancing With the Stars finally premieres Monday! Woo hoo!!

On the Good News Right This Very Second front, it’s time to announce this week’s SHaQ Attack winner. I asked you to name the heroine who went to Barbie Boot Camp and the title of the book she was in. The answer was Lucy Harper from Sleeping With Beauty. And this week’s winning blog babe is our very own Jackie O! Woo hoo!! Tune in next week for another round.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. It’s my birthday weekend and they’re calling for snow. In the middle of March. And no, I do not live in the snow belt. And it’s been gorgeous and in the sixties and seventies all week. Something is terribly wrong with this picture. I plan to make up for it with a trip to our newly opened Cheesecake Factory restaurant. (Hey, we all have to do what we have to do. The sacrifices I make.)

Check in on Monday for some Morning After Commentary on the latest round of Amazing Race! I’ll probably have a cheesecake hangover, but I will find a way to muddle through, I swear. (I know. I give, and I give.)

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day Eve! Be safe everyone. :)

  1. Hey Donna,
If I lived in your neck of the woods (I’m in Mass) I’d be happy to make that cheesecake sacrifice with you! Have a wonderful birthday (all year long…..)

    Congrats Jackie O!

  2. Hi Donna:,
I’m so excited that I won. We are having wintery weather here in NY too. At least for the parade it’s going to be cold, but dry. Have a safe St. Patty’s Day.

  3. Ok, Donna…I have to agree about the George and Izzy thing, but it was kind of
amusing when Izzy woke up, saw George then looked under the covers and saw herself naked. I chuckled.
Izzy has been such a be-otch about George and Callie (I still grin ever time I think about “Callie O’Malley” :P ) and I like Callie, so I hope that Iz and George didn’t do the dirty. And Callie is rich??? Enough to afford a $2500 a week hotel suite? Didn’t see that coming…..

  4. Congratulations Jackie O.

    Happy Birthday!!!!

As long as there are a lot of people on the stage, the “vote for the worst singer” people will keep Sanjaya going. It’s been the same every year (remember Chicken Little) - when the field narrows down he’ll be gone.

  5. Happy birthday! Try to stay warm and enjoy that cheesecake.

Hailey totally got the pity vote :(

  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DONNA!

Enjoy that cheesecake! I’ll be thinking of you! I just love any kind of cheesecake! lol

    Congrats Jackie!

  7. Have a wonderful birthday weekend. It’s been sleeting and snowing here all day when it was almost 80 degrees on Wednesday.

  8. wtg jackie

  9. Happy Birthday, Donna!

We too are getting snow - 4 to 5 predicted and just last week we had one day that hit 70 degrees. That’s so mean to tease us like that.

Now I have to try and remember Survivor is on a Wednesday night - drat them all.

Loving Grey’s. I may just watch it again tonight when it’s repeated lol.

    Congrats Jackie O.

  10. You deserve all the best and I hope this is the best Birthday ever! Happy Birthday! Enjoy the cheesecake.

    Congratulations Jackie!

They’re calling for a foot of snow here, but we already have 8 inches on the ground. I think they underestimated. :(

I heard on some show I was watching Howard Stern is pushing his listeners to vote for Sanjaya just too throw a wrench into AI.

  11. Happy Birthday weekend Donna! :)

Our snow here just started to melt away and now they’re predicting more this weekend. Guess we’re skipping over spring up here lol

  12. Have a great Birthday (for a whole weekend!)

  13. Happy Birthday Donna. May you have a warm, safe St. Patty’s Day.
