Buh bye!

This is American Idol, the results. So, I loved Ryan’s Sanjaya-do. Hi-larious. At least they’re just having fun with it now, because you can only be bitter and ugly about it for so long before you’re just the ugly bitter one. I laughed and laughed.

And, given that we all knew Sanjaya wasn’t going anywhere, and that both Haley and Chris S were my bottom 2 picks, this wasn’t completely shocking. But I will say I didn’t think he’d actually go before Haley. I sort of thought he’d be given a week or two of Song of Redemption singing. Alas, no. Our fair Curly Chris is gone. At least he got his sing out. And now we just have one Chris, no last initial needed. (Who looked pretty cute in that pimpmercial, btw.)

Next week? Tony Bennett. Yeah, because that keeps the show young and contemporary like the judges are always exhorting. I happen to love me some Tony, but I don’t generally love me some teenagers trying to sing Tony. And I definitely don’t think this is going to be all contemporary sounding. So I reserve the right to be grumpy next week. (Hey, I heard that!)

Survivor tonight, where, if we’re lucky, it will actually be interesting and maybe Rocky will finally go home. A girl can dream.

Last chance to enter this week’s SHaQ Attack contest! See Monday’s blog for details. :)

  1. I hope a herd of gnats camp out in Howard Stern’s armpits. Just because he hates Simon Cowell doesn’t mean he needs to use a young boy in his games. I feel sorry for Sanjaya now - he’s got to know what’s going on.

  2. I really thought Haley would be the one to go too, but then I thought Leeza was going from DWTS. That just goes to show you how bad I am at guessing!

Bailey, “I hope a herd of gnats camp out in Howard Stern’s armpits.” LOL

  3. I just read this on tvguide.com!

“ABC is postponing the return of Men in Trees — which it apparently likes enough to renew for a second season — so that it may instead air back-to-back episodes of the new (and thus unproven) comedy Notes from the Underbelly in the Thursdays-at-10 time slot, starting April 12. (October Road will have concluded its run by then.)

Worst case, for Trees fans? Unless ABC carves out a different home for the Anne Heche starrer, its time slot won’t be freed up until May 31 — the week after Grey’s airs its season finale.”

  4. Other than the whole Sanjaya thing, the American public seems to be voting off the worst singer of the week, which is good in my eyes. Now if people would stop voting for Sanjaya… a girl can dream, right?
