Karma’s gonna get you
But why, oh why did it have to get Danny and Oswald?? Wow, that was a nail biter, huh? I about collapsed in relief when my tv boyfriend Phil told them the good news. (Hi Phil!) I guess I don’t really understand the whole yield animosity thing. I mean, I do, because I’d dread having it happen to me, (you know, if I was actually ON The Amazing Race) but it is part of the game, so I don’t get why it’s considered underhanded or bad sportsmanship to use a tool that is given to them to use. It’s a RACE. For a MILLION DOLLARS. I keep wanting to say to the whiners who pout about it and wonder why it was used on them….Um…DUH!!
And Danny and Oswald couldn’t have felt any worse about using it either. Plus, Danielle and Eric the Swearing Whiner totally creep me out. I can’t stand either of them, so I wasn’t exactly feeling badly for them. Ah well, I know what comes around goes around, but you can’t make me believe that Eric and Dani wouldn’t use the thing if they thought it would get them ahead. Deal with it. (Can’t help but wonder what they’re thinking, sitting at home, and finding out the BQ’s actually were the ones to choose them. HA! Bittercakes for two?)
So…..here we go, into the final legs of the race, and my beloved if battered team is still alive. That leg almost killed me, so I can only imagine how it left them feeling. Also, this just in: Gorgeous Chinese Garden? Good. Jumping off a very high tower? Bad. Yikes!! Since the walk around the ledge would have killed me, the jumping would have been a moot point.
Oh, and favorite bit of the night? Oswald’s Serenity Prayer. Ha!
Can’t wait for next week. Should be another great reality week. Sweeet!
Puppy Update!
Thanks to all of you who have asked after Scamper, my poor sick little terrier, but I am very happy to report that he is doing much, much better. (So are my carpets!) I’m sure all your good doggie vibes helped a lot. It sure helped me! Thanks!!
Road Trip Alert!
Well….I am both on killer deadline and preparing to head out of town early Friday for my annual writer’s retreat at Harpers Ferry, so tune in next week for another SHaQ Attack! But!! If you want to get a book signed in person - head out to Boonsboro, Md this weekend to Turn the Page Bookstore for our HUGE annual pre-retreat booksigning. Details also on my homepage newsletter.
Happy Monday everyone!

Poor Danny and Oswald. I thought for sure they were goners. I don’t get the whole anti yield thing either. Anything to get you some type of edge I would think you would want to use it.
I really feel the need to smack Marla, when she was saying that Charla didn’t want her to be nice or something to that effect. I am just waiting for Charla to let her have it.
Happy Monday all
It is so good to hear that Scamper is doing better!
I thought for sure Danny and Oswald were on their way home. (Not a nice trick Phil!) I’m hoping Danielle and Eric find out the truth about the BQ’s before they go after the Cha Cha’s.
The roadblock would have stopped me cold. If I had to do it, I’d be crawling…and I honestly don’t know if I could have made the jump. I shiver thinking about it.
I don’t understand the anti-yield thing either. They signed up for the race and knew the rules. Sure it’s frustrating to have it used against you, but wouldn’t they have used it in a heartbeat if they had the chance…especially at this point in the race?
I found it interesting that both the beauty queens and Danny/Oswald changed the “real” story behind the yield. The girls said that D/O chose who to yield and D/O said that the girls approached them. Correct if I’m wrong, but neither story is completely true.
I am glad that Scamper is doing better.
Depending on the weather and my children I may see you at the Boonsboro booksigning.
