MAC ‘n SHaQ!

First, the MAC…

So, on Survivor, the twist was ten kinds of wrong! Hated that. It was too arbitrary and too targeted. It made the strongest people from each tribe immediate targets without much of a way of keeping their game play intact, even within a new tribe.

That said, I don’t necessarily have a problem with PG and Jaime throwing the challenge, in the sense that they’re trying to think big picture and not get Pagong’d later on. Their strategy was sound. I did have a problem with them not even trying to make it look like they were playing and being idiots about it later.

Mostly, I hated - HATED - that they were just going to pick off one of the two strongest players in their newly formed tribe and those players had NO chance, none, to make an impact. They couldn’t have won immunity to save themselves no matter what they did as PG and Jaime threw it so badly they had no chance. Then, whoomp, there it is. Wrong. So wrong.

What I loved? James’ reaction to them not playing. He is such a purist. And he simply could not grasp that they wouldn’t play. Loved his enjoying his dark and moody tribe better than being with the shiny happy people. And really loved how he was with Lunch Lady, and how it was her work ethic that turned him on. He’s such an intriguing person. And I was heartbroken that he went from power player and good team worker, to out on the whim of two bozos and their giggly plan. Sorry, Aaron, you were great eye candy, and you certainly didn’t deserve it either, but I was glad it was you over James.

I know an argument can be made that the two women, who would have little chance against these guys later on, made a very brave and powerful power play to own the game for themelves, as best they could - and if the game plays out and the merge happens as it usually does, it’s quite possible that was an incredibly smart and timely move. And I still hated it. Or hated the twist that enabled it to happen.

I am glad that Frosti lives to fight another day. Can’t say Sherea has earned that same sense of relief. I wouldn’t have been upset if she’d been the one to go.

So…not my favorite episode. Can ya tell? I read an interview with Probst before the season started and he said there was a twist this season that he’d been against, only second to his being against the return of ousted members some seasons back. He argued like he did that time, and lost, like he did that time. I’m pretty sure, given his disgust, this was it. For once? I feel ya, Jeff, I feel ya. And just like the viewing public hated that twist, I imagine they’re not crazy about this one. Maybe Burnett ought to listen to his cohort more often. At least this one was played strategically, if brutally.

Aaaaaaaand…..Dish ‘n Discuss!

Now, the SHaQ!

I asked you to name the “Other Morgan” for this week’s contest…meaning the Morgan hero who wasn’t part of my Morgan brothers, Men of Rogue’s Hollow series. Thing is, I totally forgot there was a much earlier Morgan hero, from back in my Loveswepts days! So, if you answered either Shane Morgan from Cinderella Rules (who was the hero I had in mind) or Tucker Morgan, from my Loveswept, Tease Me, you were in the running.

Alas, there can be only one winner. And that fabulous Blog Babe is Laura J! Woo hoo, Laura!

Have a great weekend everyone and tune in Monday for a new SHaQ Attack contest! (And, if I get the time, some Men In Trees MAC. :) )

  4. Congrats Laura!

I missed Survivor (had to work), but I loved your MAC. I’m so glad James survived (ha!). I don’t like when they do these twists either.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  5. I just watched it tonight. Lordy I was ticked. I felt so bad from James and Aaron. Glad James survived. I wasn’t happy with PG and Jaime at all. I understood their reasons but they went about it all wrong. I was kinda hoping Eric would vote one of them out
