It’s raining, it’s pouring…

…but it’s my brain that’s snoring! So, yeah, Survivor and Grey’s? That would be tonight, not last night. I totally blame it on deadline deadhead, and well, maybe a few other things, but I do have a book due next week (yay, Black Sheep #3 is almost done!) and it’s starting to catch up with me.

Thank you for all your kind notes and thoughts for my folks. They aren’t feeling too particularly hot at the moment, but they will mend and that is what matters most. Barbara Jo - my thoughts are with your family out west. Yikes, is that a very scary thing going on out there!! Please let us know all is well when you hear.

Don’t forget to enter this week’s SHaQ Attack! Details in Monday’s post. Winner announced tomorrow.

Along with some Survivor MAC - FINALLY! And, double wooooo hoooo! They are bringing on the next season of Amazing Race in early November instead of early 2008. Yay, us! The producer has been quoted as saying it’s one of the most fun seasons they’ve ever filmed. Yay Fun! We all need more of that! Woot!

So…who’s loving Dirty Sexy Money as much as I am? And Samantha Who? makes me laugh out loud. Private Practice is getting better. So that’s three new shows for me. Grey’s is still keeping me involved. Men in Trees with 100% Less Lynn is definitely New & Improved, but now we need 100% more Plow Guy. James Spader is still my tv flamingo and Tom Selleck….oh, why yes. Yes, indeedy. Add to that Survivor and Dancing…with My Phil on the horizon and My Tim right after that? Wow, is my dance card full! I love the fall!

Currently reading? Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer’s Agnes and the Hitman. It’s a very different sort of romance, but with all the trademark Jenny humor and quirk. Scarfing it down. (Sleep you ask? I don’t need no stinkin sleep!)

What are you watching/reading/listening to?

  1. I’m looking forward to The Black Sheep & The Hidden Beauty coming out in January and now you have me waiting on pins and needles for Black Sheep #3 already!

I imagine they will be sore for a while unfortunately. Hopefully their recoveries will go smoothly. I’ll keep them in my prayers.

I’m reading ‘Count To Ten’ by Karen Rose. I have added Moonlight, Dirty Sexy Money & Samantha Who? to my long list of must see TV.

  2. Men in Trees is being moved to Fridays at 8, starting Nov. 2.

  3. So glad to hear your parents are doing okay!

    Keep us posted Barbara Jo!

Right now I’m reading Overhexed by Vicki Lewis Thompson, just finished Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning.

I’ve heard nothing but good about Men in Trees, so if they come out with the 1st season set I’m going to snap it up!

I’m not a big reality show watcher, I like Top Chef and am now watching Kitchen Nightmares. Other shows I like are House, CSI, Bones, Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, Hereos, Bionic Woman. Aren’t DVR’s and TIVO wonderful things!

  4. I just read ‘Agnes’ last week. I am totally loving the Crusie/Mayer collaboration.
To me, ‘Agnes’ was even better than “Don’t Look Down”.

D-S-M is my new favorite show. Love Peter Krause and love Blair Underwood!
I hope we see a lot more of him. And I have always had a crush on Donald Sutherland.
There is just something about the way he speaks….. :)

Ok..I don’t know what it is with me and Men in Trees this season. As you know, I slept thru the first episode…and missed the first 20 minutes of last week!! AAArrgh!
Thank god Lynn is gone. Jack had more chemistry with the bear he lured out of Marin’s cabin last season than he did with Lynn. And Lynn? On the way out? Don’t let the screen door hit cha’ where the good Lord split cha’.
And Plow Guy?? He better show up soon. That’s all I’m sayin’ If not, well…you think Agnes was cranky???
I still haven’t watched a whole ep of Private Practice, but Samantha Who? is hilarious!
Christina Applegate is spot on in this role. It has always amazed me that an actress that beautiful can do comedy like she does.

  5. Oh! and I forgot to say that i am currently reading “The Great Scot” and totally loving it! :)
And listening to Creed- Greatest hits.
I hated it when they split. I loved Scott Stapp. The man has the most awesome voice.

  6. Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Well, Mum is doing fine - she and my cousin and his family did not have to evacuate, though my great aunt did. My mum is taking it all in stride and comparing it to a New England snow storm where you rushed to the grocery store and stock up on supplies you wouldn’t normally buy. They are able to venture out - though certain highways are still closed. This definetely was not a sight seeing trip but she’s having fun visiting anyway!! Again, thanks everyone for your concern.

  7. Barbara Jo, Glad to hear your folks are doing ok.

Donna, my moms car wreck was almost a month ago and her face is just starting to look normal again. The things that are to protect you really pack a punch but it could have been so much worse. Sending them lots of healing prayers.

I am loving Moonlight and Pushing Daisies. Not sure yet about Viva Laughlin.

I am so excited about seeing Phil again. LOL

Donna did you see in People mag that the poll for Drew vs Samantha on DWTS was 80 for Drew and 20% for Samantha.

  8. Hi Donna!

First of all Lots and lots of get well wishes for your family.

I’m currently reading Janet Evanovich’s “full” series. I very recently got into her work. So I’ve gone through a couple of her books and a couple of GRE prep books in between =) But Cranky Agnes is such a fun read, I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

As for television, I also watch DWTS, Private Practice, Ugly Betty and Greys. I can’t decide if I like Private Practice, I love Kate Walsh and Tim Daly but most of the rest I could either leave or take. As for MIT, you’re spot on with the Lynn thing. I couldn’t stand her! I’m still mad at Jack for that but I can live with it now. =)

    Take care okay!

  9. Susan - yay! Thanks for the update. Cannot WAIT for Amazing Race to start. And cool on MIT being moved to 8pm, then I can tivo Las Vegas instead of watching online later!

Darla - I’ve heard fun things about Kitchen Nightmares. I keep meaning to check it out! Love Top Chef.

Angie - thanks for the plug. Your check is in the mail. And yes, I agree about Christina Applegate. She totally nails that role. One of the few shows that gets a few laugh out loud moments so far each week. And love seeing Sookie again, but wish they used her more.

Barbara-Jo - so glad to hear your family is doing okay! I hope things get better out there very soon!

Judy - yes, my mom and dad will take a while to heal, but I’m just thankful it’s all heal-able. I hope your mom is doing okay! And I didn’t know about the poll, but it doesn’t surprise me. Poor Sam tries, but she has NO charisma and is NOT good with spontaneous conversation AT ALL.

Nelly - isn’t Janet great? I love all of her stuff and am glad to see them reprinting some of her old Loveswepts. She’s always been wonderful.

  10. Hey, I was just reading about the Amazing Race season, and GOOD NEWS! Not a single all-male team in the bunch this season. 5 out of 9 seasons (the other season being the family season of 4 person teams) have been won by all male teams, including the last two. I think that’s great! A little change up this time.

This season we have 5 married or dating couples teams, 4 family teams, and 2 friends teams. Includes three all female teams — one friends, one sisters, and one a married lesbian couple. Sounds like an interesting season already!

    Can’t wait!
