Cheetahs, an endangered species. Who knew?
So, uh, yeah. That was interesting. In a jaw-dropping, heads exploding, dogs and cats, living together kinda way.
But, it is true. Cheetah Girl Sabrina got sent packing last night on Dancing With the Stars in their vaunted “Most Shocking Elimination Ceremony Ever!” Only, in this case, it really was.
And yes, certainly not deserved, not at this stage of the game with so many other more deserving targets still in the running. However, and maybe it’s just me because we all know I wasn’t a professed Cheetah FanGrrrl, but I am kinda excited about this. Because, now that the ringer is going home early, it leaves the competition wide open, and definitely more evenly balanced.
I did feel bad for her and Mark, and the looks on the other contestants faces, Tom’s, and the judges faces (Carrie Ann was crying) showed how much they truly loved her. But, that aside, strictly competition wise, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little jazzed about the possibilities now. While there are a variety of skill levels left, as well as a variety of entertainers, I truly like them all in one way or another. So it’s going to be actively engaging now, to see where it goes. There is no juggernaut (even Mel has been in the Bottom 2.) That makes the dancers a lot more aware, too, of both the pressure to put on the best show they can, knowing full well now that, truly, anybody can go home on any given week. AND also aware that they all have a pretty credible shot at it. Yes, even Jane and Marie. It’s a dancing competition where people get to vote, so the popularity thing has to come in to play, and that’s their edge.
Me? I can’t WAIT to see where this goes now.
Okay, on to the rest of the show. First, and I’ve been waiting……LOUIS!!!!! Squee!!! Loved his rapid fire dance with Cheryl. Barry actually didn’t sound too bad. However, Mr. Barry’s Plastic Surgeon? Step away from the scalpel, dude. And put the Botox needle down while you’re at it. I mean, chasing youth is one thing, but you don’t have to wrestle it to the ground and keep it in a choke hold.
Second favorite thing - watching Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan dance together. I love watching him dance with Anna. He’s the one to truly make her seem all fragile and feminine and lovely. Deep sigh.
My vote is still out on the Bruno v Carrie thing. Except, of course, it comes on in January. And it’s a dance show. So you KNOW I’ll totally be watching it.
And, because it can’t be said enough…for the love of dog, man, plleeeeeeeease get us a new co host next season. The idea of listening to her wax moronic about this shocking elimination next week is almost too much to even contemplate, much less endure.
Take pity on us, Show Producers!
As always - don’t forget to enter this week’s SHaQ Attack contest. Details in Monday’s post.
(Also, a special heads up! My son has a two day break Monday and Tuesday of next week, so, as I am turning in a book this Friday, I will be taking a break as well and spending some family time. Which means no SHaQ next week, but no worries, there will be Dancing MAC when I come back on Wednesday!! So get your entry in for this week’s contest by tomorrow night!
So…discuss already!

I missed her and Jenny’s dance from the night before. I was sorta shocked but not really. I think like you did that a lot of people didn’t think it was fair that she be there because of her dance training but she was fun to watch. I thought for sure Jane or Marie would go home.
Should be interesting and a more true dance contest now
I was totally shocked that Cameron and Edyta were in the bottom two.
I can think of at least one person whose dance on Monday should have landed them in that position Jane *cough* cough* Jane
You know Marie isn’t going anywhere for a while..The Osmond vote alone should keep her there for a couple more weeks!
And although Sabrina wasn’t my favorite, I did like to watch her dance and I would have bet money she would’ve been one of the final two.
I’m not all that disappointed she is gone, although, as warped as it makes me sound seeing as I am probably old enough to be his mother, I enjoyed looking at Mark..that little cutie!
I think people assume certain couples are going to get the votes so they vote for the other couples. I completely agree with you on the leveling of the field. Everyone has a chance now.
A friend told me today that Mark and Sabrina were on a local radio station and admitted they were a couple. I thought that when she called him baby.
Judy, I am not surprised. They gave off that ‘vibe’ when they were together…
So they are a couple. Nice. Was really shocked about the elimination. Marie - it is time to go but with her huge family, she has the edge with the voting.
Anna is Johnathan’s wife????????
I was shocked that Sabrina and Mark were eliminated and also that Cameron and Edyta were in the bottom two. To hear what Maksim thought of the results, go to:

Not surprised that Sabrina and Mark are a couple. They definitely acted like one to me.
Yes, Anna and Jonathan are husband and wife. Who’da thunk he’d end up with the spitfire redhead, right? But I love watching them dance together.
Diana - thanks for the Maks link.
And no, I wasn’t at all surprised they were a couple. I’ve suspected it for some time now. Wonder if that will fade away now that they won’t spend so much time together. I’m sure losing that was probably as upsetting as being let go from the show.
