Row, row, row your boat…
And then there were five. Teams, that is. Of course, there was another team I wanted to see booted first, (yes, I’m looking at you, Nate and Jen) but karma did smack them around quite a bit in this episode, so I’m satisfied. For now.
Ron still annoys me with his whining and inappropriate airport behavior, but Christina seems to have him firmly in hand now, and they actually ran a good leg. Which they proved by coming in first. (Okay, Ron did make me laugh at the Mirna dig on knowing what a catamaran was. Ha!)
Nate and Jen essentially shriek, name call, and harrass their way through the entire leg. Nate just strikes me as being kind of dumb as a box of rocks. (He is, after all, dating Jen.) Jen, on the other hand, is…wow. Jen, I think, might have replaced both Flo and Jonathan/Victoria as the shriekiest harpy to ever run this race. But then, she so badly wants to be number one. Now she can claim being number one at this. Yikes. I’m not a big Nate fan, but run, dude. Run now.
Nick and Gramps are still up on my list of faves. However, Nick? Do more work, man. And stop picking on Gramps for going slow. He’s getting the job done, k? And what was up with “let’s take the boat option so you can rest” only to make Gramps do the rowing? Pick up the slack, kid. (And row with your back. Much easier.) However, in the end, since we all know my love for Hendekea and Azaria is essentially non-existent, I was rooting for them all the way. Glad they hit the mat first.
Kynt and Vyxsin, my love remains true. Kynt’s adopted accent totally kills me when it should annoy me. But he’s so sincere in wishing everyone they meet a nice day. “It was nice building walls with you!” I mean, you gotta love this guy. And who knew Vyxsin had the rockin’ bod? Yow. I love how supportive they are with each other and I’m just going to pretend I didn’t see the previews for next week. No Goth Fighting! Stop it!
TK and Rachel are running the Zen race of all time. But they are doing really well, totally enjoying the ride, and each other. And they’ve gotten better at directions. I like these two.
Which brings us to this week’s last place team. I’ve said all along that Azaria is a pompous ass and the treatment of his sister, both at the airport and post-boot interview proves my point. (My job is to challenge my sister to greater things…. Shut up, Azaria.) However, the constant Hendekea shrieking, though intended to be supportive, was almost as annoying as Jen’s. I am not upset to see this otherwise strong team leave my television screen.
And now we have to wait two weeks. What’s up with that???
So….dish! Who is your favorite? How badly do you want Nate and Jen to be banished forever? How great was it when they had to go back and ride the taxi again? Ha!
In other news….it’s SHaQ Attack contest time! This week I’m going to make it easy on you. Kind of. All ya gotta do is post a comment to any of the blogs here this week, and you’re in the running. The more ya comment, the more chances ya get. (Only one comment a day counts, but please, converse away!) No need to email or anything else. Consider it an early holiday present.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! Stay safe out there.

Hi Donna! It’s cold and rainy here!
I’m still rooting for the Goth’s!
I love your recaps.
Good morning~
This season I just couldn’t get into watching Amazing Race - aside from annoying contestants, it’s my Maj Jongg night. Everyone’s shopping and holiday prep. done?
Barbara-Jo, such a comedian.
And yes, Laura, of the teams left, I’d love to see the Goth’s win. Actually, I think I could stand any team winning except Nate and Jen. Although Ron winning would be a bit hard to take as well, Christina would SO have earned it if that ends up being the case.
Ouuuuu, now chatting is something I can do Donna…lol
LOL!! You know those are my kind of SHaQ attacks!
And with the end of DWtS, my blog comments are rather limited since I’m not a Survivor or Amazing Race kinda gal.
I can pass on the joke that Karen Kelley left on her Brava blog that absolutely cracked me up:
How do you catch a polar bear?
You cut a hole in the ice. Then you open a can of peas and pour it in the hole. When the polar bear comes out to take a pea you kick him in the ice hole.
I died laughing, but I’m easy like that!
I want the goths too. I just love how they are so polite to everyone they met. I cracked up when whinning Jen had to go back. I thought maybe they would have to take a 30 min penalty or something.
I am like you Donna I don’t want my goths fighting.
I thought the grandson had a lot of nerve complaining when he almost cost them the race the week before.
It’s cold and rainy here, too! That’s ok though. It’s better than snow because I don’t have to shovel it! lol
I enjoy your recaps so much and I was thinking the exact same thing when Nick and Gandpa are in the boat. TK and Rachel are my favorites. They are completely enjoying this trip and each other. These people are getting a chance to see the most amazing things and I think you can run a good race and also appreciate seeing the world.
I am rooting for the Goths and TK and Rachel. Christina is starting to get some respect from her dad.
I thought Carrie Ann and Bruno’s show came on tonight, but I just checked the TV Guide and I was wrong. Wahhhhhhh.
It’s finally made it to 41 degrees here.
Angie T.
thanks for sharing that! I am sooo glad I wasn’t drinking anything at the time.
I don’t know who I’d want to win on The Amazing Race right now…I do kind of like Kynt and Vyxsin…and Nick and his grandfather.
ROFL Angie! Thanks for sharing!
I don’t watch the Amazing Race… but everyone seems so into it!!
I don’t watch Amazing Race, but I do watch Survivor. I can’t wait for the last 2 episodes this week. It seems like this season went quickly. I’m gonna root for Todd.
Love the joke Angie! HA HA HA!
I’m glad I don’t have to send in a SHaQ Attack this week because I’m not watching either of the shows this year and I would have had to make a blind guess. I can’t get into the shows unless they manage to hook me early on.
I am not as into Survivor as I have been over the past years. Anyone else feel the same way?
Would really like to see PG and Courtney go!
I am not into survivor either. I can’t wait for more dancing!
sounds good donna
It’s monday and I miss Dancing with the Stars
I never got into the Amazing Race. And I guess there’s only a few more weeks left of Survivor. What will I do without my reality TV lol.
Angie - baaaaad! So funny, though!!
Yes, I’m rooting for the goths too, but like TK and Rachel.
Have no idea who to really root for on Survivor at this point. Maybe Amanda. Maybe Todd.
And, I too can’t wait for the dancing shows to return! I am having a hard time getting into Project Runway this go around, so when Survivor and Amazing Race end, whatever will I do??? I could be forced to watch Big Brother. The horror!
I am so bummed out because our Satellite dish is down and I missed Survivor and The Amazing Race this week. At least I get to hear about the shows here. Thanks.
