A dream come true….

…if your name is Todd.

I suppose, since he’s a Big Fan, and has watched every season since he was, like, in diapers, we should all give him a cheer for realizing his dream.

Eh, not so much.

Sure, he was deserving. I guess. By the time Denise was knocked out, and we were left with Amanda, Todd, and Courtney (no, that last one was NOT a typo!) I was, sort of, rooting for Amanda. She was essentially the least offensive of the remaining crowd. But then she took on this “I’m sooooooo sorry I lied to you guys to win a million dollars and play a game where lying is pretty much necessary, soooooo sorry,” with this sad doe look…I knew she was doomed. (And hey, you really know you sucked at Final Tribal when Courtney ends up scoring more votes than you do.) Which left Todd the runaway victory, no big surprise. He ran Final Tribal like it was his own personal banquet. I will admit that I’d have given him the million just watching him shut down John Robert. That was almost worth every penny.

Unfortunately, with the power issues I had, plus Deadline Day, I never did get to see the reunion part of the show. I understand Denise scored some pity money after losing her lunch lady job (since I didn’t see the show, I can’t comment, but, on the one hand it was very nice they helped her out, and on the other hand, I wasn’t real happy with the Denise Pity Party plea to Amanda before she was booted…it’s a game, not social services, and no one should be made to feel bad for winning.) I also understand James snagged the Fan Fave for 100K. Nice work if you can get it! (I’d have picked him, too, so, what can I say?)

And, I hear that the next season, starting here in February, I think, will feature Fans versus Faves. If it’s going to be 7 Todd’s and Rob Cesternino’s, then I’m not sure I can stomach that (although pitting all the Survivor geeks against each other could be amusing.) And I’ll hold off judgment on the Faves part until we hear who is playing. I’m guessing it will be James from this most recent season, though there have been murmurs it will be PG. Really? Because she might be a good player, but I don’t think anyone liked her very much. At all. I don’t want to watch her be scrappy twice.

So…dish! Who would you like to see come back? My number one pick is Yau Man!

Time for the SHaQ Attack contest! Since the holiday season is upon us, and you only have a few short days to enter to play, I’m totally making it easy on you this week. Send an email to donna@donnakauffman.com with “Santa? Is that you?” in the subject line. One winner will be chosen from the stack o’ entries and announced on Friday.

** Past book winners - after several tries where I couldn’t even get into the parking lot, much less the building, I have officially given up trying to get anywhere near my post office until after the holidays. Lily, Nathalie, Deborah, and this week’s winner….Santa loves you, but your books will go out later next week.

  1. Definitely Yau Man!

  2. I hope they pick some diff people. I don’t think I could take rob/amber or Sue again…

I wish Amanda would have taken a diff route at tribal I started to fast forward through most of it.

  3. I wouldn’t mind seeing Colby come back or Sandra or Rupert. Not sure who else wouldn’t have me watching on mute lol

  4. It was a generous gesture on Mark Burnett’s part to give Denise $50,000, but it’s been reported that Denise was misleading in her comments on the reunion show:

  5. Oh I was not happy at all when they gave her that money. Is she the only person in the world making minimum wage? and who knows how much she really needs it, after all she wasn’t a single mother. And personally I wouldn’t doubt she got demoted to janitor after they heard her bitch about her lowly job as the lunch lady - maybe they wanted to show her a more lowly job. Sorry not very nice of me. Now James on the other hand who seemed like he could have had a real pity party for what happened and possibly what he does for a living - never said anything and so I think really deserved “winning” the 100K. end of rant lol

  6. According to http://www.people.com, Denise has since donated the $50,000 to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

  7. Donna, I never watched this show but I heard about what happened on some evening news show mentioning this! I thought wow!

I did watch that show this year, some of the episodes, with the one where they give the rose at the end (Bachelor?) and what an ending. Usually I never watch those reality shows. Wonder anyways what to watch with the shows going into repeats soon. I usually watch the game shows.

Anyways, if it comes on in Feb, I’ll try to remember to watch it to see more about this reality show.
