Last day to play…

In the meantime…so what did you think about Lunch Lady Denise’s donation? Apparently, on the finale, she made it sound as if she’d come back from being on Survivor only to find she’d lost her job as lunch lady and was now a lowly janitor. In fact, she’d asked for a promotion to custodian (I’m assuming it was a promotion because it’s a full time job that comes with benefits, vs the part time job of lunch lady?) before asking for a leave of absence to be on the show, and got the promotion. So, um, she was a janitor when she left to be on Survivor. While gone, she says she had a change of heart and decided she wanted to go back to being a lunch lady, but was told upon her return that that position wasn’t currently available, but she could apply for it. However,her regular job as custodian was still there for her.
So….yeah. A bit misleading there, Denise! And I don’t blame the school superintendant for being a little miffed, especially after promoting her on Denise’s own request, then being generous enough to hold her job for her so she could go be on Survivor, all the while being part of a town who rooted for her the whole time she was on the show…only to be thanked by being cast as the evil villain on national live television. Not cool, Denise. Did you really think no one would step forward and, oh, I don’t know, clarify things?
However, when all this came to light, Denise did decide that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to keep that 50K that Mark Burnett (Survivor producer) so kindly awarded her to help her through her supposed difficult time, and asked that it instead by awarded to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Nice save.
In other news, amazingly, Lynn Spears (mother of Britney and Jamie Lynn) book publisher has decided to suspend publication of her new book on parenting (no, really) after her 16 yr old daughter revealed she was pregnant a few days ago. Um, who thought it was a good idea for Lynn Spears to write a parenting book in the first place? Just wondering.

Hey, I’m in reality tv and scripted tv withdrawal hell right now. And with my TiFaux still on the fritz, I missed my date with My Tim last night! (Cruel, really.) However! I do have a pal who taped it for me, so never fear, I will get a follow up date tonight. (So no spoiling who went home!!)
I hope everyone is gearing up for the holiday season and enjoying friends and family. I am enjoying your company and wanted to take the time to tell you all how much I appreciate your camaraderie and good cheer. Blog Babes Rock!

And yeah, the Lynn Spears book was a bit baffling to me as well…unless it was supposed to be about what not to do.
It never fails to amaze how people will tell tales and not think anyone will call them out on it. I am glad she donated the money.

Oh now I understand a bit, the reality shows! Sorry I’m so bad, I never watch any TV! So hard to follow a show seeing it and watching the captions. Isn’t Survior gross? (I’m such a wimp, LOL) Yeah I heard about Britany’s sister being pregnant but didn’t know she stopped publication of the book, indeed a good idea.
I’m learning lots being here after a couple weeks, besides your books, Smile! I need to get the new Brava series! I love your releases from there and these absolutely sound fab!!!
