Girl’s Night. Eh.
So…the girls can all sing. I think we can all agree on that. And there are some that stand out, or are at least memorable from one week to the next, even if you can’t remember their names. Or how to pronounce them. Alex-Ahhhhhndrea. But there were no boffo performances from the ladies last night, either. A not-bad-but-kind-of-listless week. And, while I agree that the Mandisa’s and the Sanjaya’s and the Melinda Doolittles all had their variety of talent levels, from stunning to the just stunned, and we all had difficulty imagining any of them, truly, as pop stars…..they were a heckuva lot more entertaining than this batch of perfectly fine singers.
I really looked forward to this week of singing, and, on both nights, as I watched, I wondered….what was it I was looking forward to again?
Of the ten, I thought several aquitted themselves well, but there wasn’t a single performance that wowed me, or even held my attention long enough to keep from fast forwarding to the final belt-it-out note and straight to the judges comments. No one in the audience really lost their collective minds over any one of them, either. (David A does seem to have the advantage on that court.)
So…from the remaining twenty, I’d be okay with David White Streak Yaeger and Luke 90210 Menard going home. Bandana Boy could go, too, and I’d be okay with that. (Because we all know we’re going to be subjected to The Noriega for some time to come.) For the ladies…I can’t even say who was just That Bad. I’d like to see Ramiele Polynesian Dancer stay, along with Alex-Andrea, the cute smiley one who went second and Asia’h who went last. Rawker Girl can stay long enough for us to see more of the real her. The blondes can all go. Even the one with the guitar. Maybe especially her. Not because she’s not good, she did give one of the best performances of the night. She just creeps me out for some reason. On the guy’s side, I want Aussie Man and Dread-Twinkles to stay. David A is a no brainer to stay on. I’d like Chikezie to stay. I enjoyed him singing this week. And maybe Word Nerd David…if he learns to read a room, as well as he does a crossword puzzle. The rest can go in whatever order America chooses.
What did you think? Who would you send packing?
On Project Runway, I am still sniffling over the fact that Rami made it to Fashion Week over Chris, but take faith in the knowledge that all four of them, and Sweet Pea, actually showed their lines at Bryant Park (so as not to spill on who made the finals) so he did get to show, it just won’t run on television. You can find links to it all over You Tube, though, if you want to see all five collections! Who do I want to win? I love Jillian’s stuff, just wish she’s annoy me less. So…as much as I’m sure it pains a lot of people, I’m actually rooting for the Little Fierce One to take it all home. We’ll see…..
And, last, but never least, we got Our Alaskan Hotties back. Well, two of them anyway. Men in Trees returns, and we get a nice dose of both Cash and Plow Guy Sam. Ahhhhh. Now if they would just pick a night and leave it there, please. Honestly.
Don’t forget today is the final day to enter this week’s contest. You have until 8pm EST to get your vote in. See Tuesday’s blog post for all the details. Winner announced in the morning. Along with some Survivor MAC!
Aaaaaaaand, dish!

>>She just creeps me out for some reason.
LOL She’s SO WHOLESOME!!!!!! Is that it? I can see where it would. I like her but I did wonder if her song was a sly, tongue-in-cheek jab at Simon.
I’d like to see the blondes go home too but I’m afraid Amanda is in REAL danger after last night’s suckaliscious performance
Kady who sang “Magic Man” should go for sure along with the rest of the blondes. No one stands out like in previous seasons which is sad.
Chris disappointed me last night. Jillian impressed me.
Woohoo! Men In Trees is back!
