Miss Lemon joins the party…
Well, I missed the Oscars last night, but I taped some of the preview stuff, so later tonight I can curl up with a mug of cookie dough ice cream and find out the really important things, like who looked great, who looked…interesting… and who arrived with whom.
The reason I missed the Oscars was because one of my sisters showed up with her cockatiel in tow and, long story short, I will be giving Miss Lemon (the bird’s name, not my sister’s) a new home. I will share a picture in the next day or two after she settles in. She is an absolute sweetheart, very cuddly and adorable. However, thus far, a few hours in, Zazu, my parrot, is withholding judgment on this new exotic creature who has invaded his domain. But I think after they stare at each other across a crowded room for a few days, they might feel a bit more flockish towards one another. We’ll see!

Good luck with the birds! I’ve got an african gray parrot named Oscar Madison who hates all other birds. His cage is next to our other bird and he likes to throw food at the little one.

I ended up watching the Oscars but I only tuned in at 8 and didn’t see all the red carpet stuff.

Didn’t get to see the Oscars, my cable decided to die last night. Not the TV, couldn’t get a single channel on cable. Which means I will miss 24 (2 hours) tonight.
Sounds like we all had cosmic issues with Oscar watching last night! The reviews today didn’t seem all that lustrous.
And boo hiss on having to miss 24. I used to watch Alias way back when and I knew if I missed one week I would be hopelessly lost. I don’t watch 24 (or Alias anymore) but I know it’s the same kind of show. Hopefully you can find a site online that does recaps. That’s why I love Television Without Pity. It’s sharp and snarky, but snark with affection (since we’re all obviously addicted) - and the recaps are great.
Watched the Oscars and liked most of the fashions but wasn’t into any of the movies this year. What variety of cockatiel is Miss Lemon? I have a pied-male named Dover. Just lost my society finch and miss her, so does Dover. lol
