And then there were two…

So, we open the penultimate results show with an event from Fantasia. She doesn’t just come out and sing, y’all. It’s an event. And the very, absolute best moment of the event? Is when the camera pans to Cowell near the end and he has this total wtf hell kind of trainwreck am I watching here? look on his face. Worth the price of admission, right there.

Then Ryan starts the countdown by calling Archie out first, who looks even younger than usual, if that’s possible. He’s like 12 now. We do get the hometown clips now. He says he’s stoked, which sounds about ten kinds of wrong coming from him. Then he’s so completely overwhelmed that anyone turns out to see him he cries and says gosh a whole lot. Has he been watching the show? But it’s all rather touching, and makes me worry for him, all at the same time. How weird is it that when they show his audition clip, he looks a lot sharper and more current there, older, then how he’s been groomed for the show. Hunh. He’s incredibly adorable in his clip package and his mother is a total knockout. How did freakshow daddy get that? Just askin. Best random comment moment of the night? Staring out at all those people screaming his name, and wondering, “Where did they all park?” HA! Honestly, don’t you think he was channeling Castro there, for just a moment?

Syesha is up next for the package treatment segment of tonight’s show. Her mom, not so much with the knockout, and her dad - remember him? He’d just gotten out of rehab when she auditioned? So the exposure into her world definitely grounds your perception of what’s she’s done and where she’s come from. They’re so overwhelmed, it’s nice to see the support. Could have done without the handstand by the mayor… yow. What was that? And Archie can feel better about all the crying. He’s so not alone.

Please, don’t make Cook cry. I’m begging you.

He goes home to Missouri and it’s Archie levels of craziness there. Wow. And even Mr Cool is blown away by the number of people who came out (in the rain no less) to see him. And his baby brother Andrew? Kinda hot, y’all. Needs some stylin, but it’s in there. Heck, if they can hottie up older bro, anything is possible. And he’s a singer, too. Oh crap, they went and made Cook cry. I know, I know, it has to be amazingly overwhelming and at a time when they are stressed out and exhausted. So, I’m over it. So is he, quickly, thank god. And when it comes back to the studio, Ryan’s all “see you next year, Andrew” who nods…and did you catch their mom? Totally shaking her head no. HA!

Who’s in? Not much of a surprise, the David’s are it. Cook is all big bro to first Syesha, then Archie. Awwww. Syesha does a really nice job on her sing out (and did you see Archie singing along under his breath? You just know he knows his songs and everyone elses, too. Ha! It was cute.) And then they had to go and show her dad singing along and that made me teary. Dammit! Now I’m crying. Sheesh!

It was a pretty good results show - I actually watched it start to finish for a change. Next week could be interesting!

Who’s gonna win it??

Don’t forget, last day to get in this week’s SHaQ Attack contest. See Monday for details!!

  1. It was a good results show! On one hand I want Archie to win because I think Cook would be better off. On the other hand I think Cook is the better of the two.

  2. I too think Cook is the better of the two. I also think they’re both going to get something out of it as far as recording goes.
