Why, America, why?

So…no new Survivor this week AND My Phil did the TBC thing on Amazing Race. What’s up networks? Come on. Y’all are forcing me to watch American Idol results show. All of it, not just the last five minutes.

Of course, the basketball fan in me is happy because March Madness, woot! But still… (and hey, I haven’t talked sports since the Australian Open, so I’m overdue. Friendly warning.)

First off, Stevie sang tonight. Deep, appreciative sigh here. Have I mentioned that I love that man? Really enjoyed getting to see him sing again. He’s been around forever, and he still sounded just like the Stevie I know and love. I had to go download tunes to my iPod after that, get a Little Stevie Wonder Fix. For that, I guess I can forgive making me watch the whole ordeal.

And double bonus was that Ryan didn’t needlessly prolong the guillotine torture as he’s been made to in the past. Bandaid-off-in-one-rip axing tonight, folks. Worked for me. I liked the shorter format and that they spent more time “celebrating song” as Stevie said, by letting the man sing, than dragging out the inevitable to a ridiculous, cruel (for the contestants) degree.

Now, on to the travesty of the evening! No,not Melissa leaving. She was in my bottom two. Ace and Lisa in the bottom three? Definitely not the way I read things. At. All. Not yet, anyway. No, the travesty was that the Ace and Lisa placement meant Kevin was, at the very least, fourth from last. FOURTH, y’all. At the least. For all we know he was second. Or, god forbid, first. I will say he at least had the grace to look surprised. And don’t get me wrong, he’s a cute kid, but not the next American Idol. The craziness must end.

Wonder what next week’s theme is? (I shudder to even speculate, but Stevie Week went better than I thought it would with this group, so who knows….)

Currently reading? Room Service by Jill Shalvis. Mucho fun!!

  1. Ack, I’m getting hives just seeing that you’re reading Room Service. But hey, that’s just me. Hope you enjoy it.

PS WHO GOT VOTED off A.I.? I missed the episode and count on you, woman!

  2. No hives! I’m really enjoying it. Fun, sexy, playful. Right up my alley!!

As for AI - did you read the blog? LOL I did mention it. Melissa left, Ace and Lisa were also in the bottom three, with Lisa being the other one in the bottom two. I know, they aren’t the best or brightest of the batch, but I did think others deserved those spots before them. Ah well, America is quirky like that!

  3. me to donnna, yes march madness starts today. i can feel it

  4. Survivor was on last night but it was a repeat of the first one. I sneaked a peek at the first commercial of Bones.
I have one Desire to finish(which I am halfway through) then I am starting Undone. I probably won’t get a lot of reading done next week cause I’ll be going to my sister’s near Toronto and she says there is plenty of spring cleaning to keep me busy most of the week.

  5. I was a bit shocked at the bottom 3 myself. Not Melissa, but that Kevin wasn’t in it. I was trying to figure out who he reminded me of and finally realized it…Harry Potter. He can sing, but I just don’t see him as an idol.

I am currently reading (and LOVING) Bad Boys in Kilts by Donna somebody…LOL :)

  6. Oh Jill’s book was awesome. I must be the only person who doesn’t watch American Idol. But I do watch the amazing race and survivor so am I forgiven??? I missed the first week of the race, being a blonde I didn’t tape it. But I don’t think I missed to much. Still need to watch this weeks episode.

No survivor for three weeks. Yikes…
Do you have a fav on there?

  7. Christa, hey, if you’re available for spring cleaning and all…. LOL As for Survivor, I did watch the clip show with Spence, not much new, but some interesting tidbits. I usually skip the clip shows but with having to wait two more weeks for a new one…

Jennifer - Harry Potter, yes. Hopefully America will get it right next week! Glad you’re enjoying BBiK!!

Judy, anyone who shares my shameless addiction is so totally forgiven. Hmm, Survivor favorite would have to be Cirie. I’m just loving how she’s working this game.

  8. Donna I don’t mind helping clean and stuff. It makes me feel useful. My family gets me to do things like clening, gardening etc and don’t treat me like an invalid. Last year before Christmas I spent a week helping my sister get ready for her Christmas party. Plus she is a registered nurse. I have what the doctor calls acute Ataxia Cerabellis(she didn’t know what else to call it for disability)It effects my balance and coordination.
Judy you are not alone, I don’t watch Idol either.

  9. Phew, I feel better. I think Cirie is my favorite too, she just cracks me up… My sister has Sally in her office pool.

  10. Hi Donna!!

I enjoy all of Jill’s books so you can never go wrong..as well as ALL of yours too :) I was wondering if you are going to list the 15 winners that you chose in your general contest as well as your blog contest?
I also thought there would be a different bottom 3 on AI..but the not as talented singers will get kicked off eventually…hopefully the Kevin will be next week!! I’m sure Kevin may be a nice person but I don’t want to hear him talk or sing anymore LOL LOL!!!
