Dancing with some of the stars….but not Maks. :(

So….during Dancing With the Stars rehearsal, Misty May ruptured her achilles tendon (I know - OUCH!) which means she and Maks are out of the competition. Boo. Heal fast, Misty! Bye, Maks!

Last night was Jive and Viennese Waltz.

Susan & Tony: Jive
She hurt her ankle in the dress rehearsal and seemed off balance the whole time, but she gave it her all and they were kind to her. Still….62. I’m just sayin. Still, bottom three for me. Sorry, Susan! Score: 21

Lance & Lacey: Viennese Waltz
They went traditional. I liked it. Lacey was softer and they still had fun with it. Cranky Uncle Len finally gave them something higher than a six. Yeah, a seven. Top of the middle pack for me, skill wise, but top three overall, entertainment wise. Score: 22

Cheryl & Maurice: Jive
I think Maurice really went for it and while it wasn’t the most polished thing in the world, it was fun and I enjoyed it. Oh, and if Cheryl is “fat” this year as some have been saying….yeah, I want her diet. They are middle of the pack for me. Score: 24

Karina & Rocco: Viennese Waltz
So….yeah, he’s never going to win this, but mondo props for really going out there and giving it his all. He could go the corny route, and he’s really not. I liked Karina’s dress. I really think he’s softened her up quite a bit this season. They are bottom three, but I’m hopeful he sticks around another week. Score: 20

Warren & Kym: Viennese Waltz
Kym really choreographs the big guy so well. For someone his size to do a dance that’s all grace and flow, I think, is just as challenging as the fast footwork dances. And I think he did a really nice job of looking elegant and “getting it.” Kym really sold it as well. They so make me smile. Top three for me. Score: 25

Julianne & Cody:Jive
So, I like the kid. Sue me. Seriously, cute squared. I really enjoyed their whole dance. She’s another one who does such fun choreography and really plays to her partner’s strengths. So enjoyable. And I liked her outfit and wig, but at times it was like watching Christine Aguilera doing the jive. Wacky! Totally top three for me (if not the judges.) Score:21

Toni & Alec: Viennese Waltz
So, apparently they got the Lance/Lacey music this week. Which would have been great if they’d used it. Instead, it was just really jarring. I loved the courtly costumes and really wish they’d just stuck with that. I couldn’t get into the rhythm of it at all, which is a shame because I think they danced really well, but it was too jarring to really watch. Top three dancing, but middle three placement for me. I really wanted to mute that music. Scores:22

Corky & Cloris:Jive (really)
So, right, no way is the 82 year old keeping up that pace, and golf claps to Corky for devising a fun routine that gave us the gist of the dance anyway. I thought it was cute - and did you see that leg extension? Dayum, Cloris! That was impressive! The rest, not so much, but still more fun than annoying. Bottom three…and should leave us. We’ll see. Score:16

Brooke & Derek: Viennese Waltz
Rocky week between them, but they looked lovely on the floor. I guess I have a top four this week! First ten of the season. Scores: 28

A fun week despite losing Misty & Maks. Pout. They didn’t say whether another couple would definitely leave, so…I guess we’ll see tonight!

Don’t forget to enter this week’s SHaQ Attack contest. Details in Monday’s post.

DISH time! Who’s going? Who’s staying? Who was your fave?

  1. My favorite couple is Kym and Warren. I think Cloris is going home tonight.

  2. Poor Misty and Maks. You could tell he really hated to leave. I think they could have gone a long way.

I agree Donna about Alex and Toni’s dance. It was to jarring for me.

Warren is a doll he really shined last night.

  3. Yeah, it’s time for Cloris to go but I think she is more than ready! I like Julianne and Cody, enjoy watching Warren and Derek and I don’t know what he has against Lance!

  4. haha it looks like Derek and Warren are dancing together from my comment - didn’t mean it that way lol.

  5. Okay, so it’s Wednesday and I watched the elimination round and know that no one went home. This being said I was really dissappointed that Cloris was not in the bottom, heck I even think Susan should go home before Rocco. Actually any one of the three can go and I will not be dissappointed.

  6. So, having missed last nights episode - I was pleased to discover that no one is being eliminated! I know, Cloris’ days are numbered - but I’ll take the entertainment factor for as long as I can. I think Toni and Alec might push up a little to make the competition a little stiffer for Brooke/Derek and Kym/Warren which I think will be the top 2. Still Love Lance and Lacey though!
