SHaQ Attack Friday!

So….Waaaaaahmber did indeed go home this week (as 99.9% of the Blog Babes predicted.) I was perfectly happy with that outcome. Also, this just in. Julie Chen? Please, don’t ever say “play-ah” again. And who’da thunk Eric’s brothers would be so attractive? The on-again, off-again girlfriend? Yeah, can we say “I’m only On Again for my 15 Minutes Of Fame?” Oh, that’s right, you already had your 15 minutes on So You Think You Can Dance, where Mary and Mia both told you that dancing? Not so much for you. Yikes. Who will win the HOH this week? I haven’t peeked on the live thread bb’s - mostly because, do we really care? I would love to see Zach get it, and send the Donato’s home. I understand it’s a double eviction week next week. Woo hoo! Speed this up, Big Brother!

Now on to the only real thing of interest….who is this week’s winning Blog Babe! Most of you guessed Amber this week, so there was a big pile to choose from, but the winner this week is Diana P! Woo hoo!!

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend to celebrate the end of summer (as we know it anyway.) I will be back on Tuesday with a new SHaQ Attack contest.

Last Comic Weeping…

So, the final five is now four. My favorite, Amy, stayed. I was thrilled for that. And then she delivered her worst set yet. Sob. The others remaining? Lavelle Crawford, who had a really off the wall set. Jon Reap, who did make me laugh out loud several times (yay Jon, my other fave!) But, other than the very gratifying surprise of Ralph going home this week…there was that surprisingly great set once again by Gerry Dee. Who knew?? I thought he was really funny.

So…going home this week? Yeah, it’s going to be Amy.

If I had to rate them tonight, I’d say Gerry, Jon, Lavelle, Amy. But Lavelle’s grizzly bear set was one loooooong act for not much punch at the end. Didn’t make me laugh. Amy, it could have been yours!

But the others might want to step it up a little, otherwise Gerry’s going to steal this thing! (Which, fine by me, but I want better comedy, dammit. Make me laugh.)

Don’t forget! You have until 8pm EST tonight to vote for who goes home on Big Brother - Amber or Zach. I’ll announce a winner tomorrow morning for this week’s SHaQ Attack. See Monday’s post for the details!

Dum da dum dum….

Emphasis on the dum dum part. Sigh. Eric, Eric, Eric. What a weenie. He has the chance the break up the Donato Evil Duo and what does he do? Wimps. Out.

But! Now life is much easier for Blog Babes everywhere as you have a 50-50 shot of guessing the right evicted hammie this week. So…will it be Amber? (or Waaaaaaaahhhmber, as I like to call her.) Or Bunny Suit Zach??

Send in your votes by tomorrow, Thursday, at 8pm EST (although because of football, I won’t get to watch it until 2am….yikes! Figures!!) Thank goodness for the internet…I’ll find out tomorrow night anyway…and a winner will be posted Friday morning. Check Monday’s post for voting details. And for those of you who already voted and perhaps went for someone other than these two? You may vote again. I forgot they would be doing the veto before the final vote. (Shows you how much I pay attention.)

See you Friday! Same Blog Babe time, same Blog Babe station.

Monday, Monday…

What a weekend!

The Mini Run was most excellent. Most fun I’ve had in ages. No pictures, unfortunately, as I was too busy driving like a maniac!! I kept up pretty well for a newbie. Can’t wait to do the next one.

The Steelers won in pre-season — again!, and the US Open tennis tournament starts today. Not bad!

Now, if only the fall television season would kick into gear. I can’t believe we’re stuck with the dredge remains of what’s left of Big Brother, and Top Chef. At least Top Chef is still interesting.

So, I am scraping the very bottom of a slimy reality barrel for this week’s SHaQ Attack contest question.

Who is going home on Big Brother this week? Amber and Zach are on the block, but anyone else can be substitued depending on who wins the Power of Veto. You have until 8pm EST Thursday night to send in your vote (and even if you don’t watch, and really, why would you, these people are horrid, you can send in a guess.) Your choices are:
Amber, Zach, Jameka, Eric, Daniele, or Dick. (Jessica can’t go home this week as she is Head of Household.)

Send your votes to donna@donnakauffman.com with “Hamster, Go Home” in the subject line.

Good luck! (And good riddance to any of the remaining hammies!)

TGIF!!!

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jen goes home on Big Brother. I can’t figure these people out. It’s uncomfortable watching them and I’m kinda wishing I’d left them on my TiFaux unseen. Ah well…if they could just get rid of Dick now, it might be more interesting to watch. Except, you know, not really. Yuck. I want my dance shows baaaaaack! (Rumors abound on who is going to be on the next season of Dancing With the Stars…I’m hearing everything from Gisele Bundchen to Wayne Newton!)

Enough whining…on to some winning!

The SHaQ Attack question this week was to name an animal, other than a dog, who has appeared in one of my books. You call came through with a huge list – everything from Elvis the Iguana to Cleopatra the three legged alligator, to Ringer, the shape shifting pet in Royal Hunter. The winning Blog Babe this week? Is Darla Ray! Woo hoo, Darla!!!

I am participating in my first MINI Cooper run tomorrow – should be a fun day. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Tune in next week for more SHaQ Attack fun!

Wha?

Oh sure, sure, I get my power back in time to watch Top Chef and they have the nerve to send my guy Tre home. What’s up with that? Yeah, yeah, so what he was executive chef? Send Slow Onion Chopper Monk Fish Overcooker Casey home first. So not happy with that outcome. And now I get to pout over it for two weeks. Rrr.

And over on Last Comic Standing, they’re all funny and I have no idea who, out of the five, I’d send home. To be honest, Ralph’s drunk uncle was funny for about a minute or two, but it shouldn’t have been his whole set. And I really wanted John’s set to be better, because he’s funnier than that. Lavalle packed a ton of stuff into his set, and Jerry was funnier than I expected him to be. I just hope it’s not Amy going home. I like her.

Oh, and I did a quick catch-me-up of Big Brother. Why? I still don’t know. Weirdest season ever, and that’s saying something. Dick is a piece of work and a nasty piece at that, his daughter is really smart but really whiney, Amber should be dehydrated from all the damn crying she does, honestly she should get that checked, Jen is a freaking robot, Eric kind of amazes me with how he’s managing to work in all the whack stuff America is making him do, though with a smaller crowd, it’s catching up with him now, and we’re all conveniently forgetting how catty and nasty Jessica was to Carol in the beginning because she’s being all cute and airheaded now. Oh yeah, Zach. Great bunny costume, dude. I don’t get you, though. And Jameka is proving she’s a tough girl in a house full of whack. Who do I want to win? Um. Hmmm. Well…. Yeah, it’s like that. SO glad I bothered.

Is it the Fall Season yet? It really needs to be the Fall Season. Now, please.

Don’t forget to enter this week’s SHaQ Attack contest. Details in Monday’s post - winner announced tomorrow!

Rain, rain…

….don’t go away. We need you. But, when possible, I’d really like my DSL back, pretty please. :)

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday! Don’t forget to play this week’s SHaQ Attack. Details in Monday’s post.

SHaQ Attack Monday!

It’s time for this week’s SHaQ Attack contest question.

Your mission, Blog Babes, if you choose to accept it, is to name an amimal I’ve had in any of my books other than a dog. (Hey, I was going to ask you to name all the dogs I’ve had in books, but that would be quite the list!)

Send answers to donna@donnakauffman.com with Pick My Pet! in the subject line. I’ll draw a winner from all entries on Friday. Winner gets a free book from my bookshelf.

And I have two winners books waiting to go out - I lost all my packaging supplies (along with a few books) in my recent fun with flooding. But they will go out this week!

Happy Monday everyone! :)

It’s over. Sob.

Well, the last night of competition was fierce, y’all. My favorite night of the whole season by far, as it should be, but isn’t always.

The solos didn’t do much for me, except Danny was awesome as usual. The top four dance to Cabaret was good, as expected. Love the stuff they did with sliding the chairs. Yow.

On the pairs….

I actually really liked the little fox routine with Lacey and Sabra and didn’t get all the Wade bashing that happened. Sort of sucked for them when I really wanted a girl to win this year and the jidges collective buzz kill put that in question for me.

I definitely loved the Danny/Neil pairing ALOT, but am I the only one who kept waiting for the part where Neil leapt over Danny’s head as he did in rehearsals? That said, I don’t know HOW they managed to do all that dancing (and now that I’ve seen the final night, too, I’m exhausted for them!)

On mixed pairs, I really enjoyed all of the pairings. I agree that the Neil/Sabra hip hop wasn’t as hard hitting as before, but with all the dancing going on tonight, that’s understandable, and I found it really enjoyable and entertaining. Thought the Danny/Lacey waltz was lovely and their lines really gorgeous. Lacey and Neil did a great job with the Lindy Hop, that was crazy. But really, really loved Danny/Sabra going all Latin on us. Wow.

I ended viewing that final dance show without a clue who would or should win. My feeling was that it should be Sabra (please!) or Danny (who, you just can’t argue that he’s stunning, truly stunning.) I agree with my previous tv boyfriend Cranky Dan that I could watch him for a very long time without ever, every getting bored.

So….that brings us to the two hour, jam packed final results night. I loved this show. I thought it was one of the best results shows in a very long time, for any reality program.

Things I didn’t like: Stupid Cat/Nigel dance pimping. And two musical guests that were fine, but took slots I’d have rather given to more dancing.

Things I did like: all the rest of every single second. Wow, that was satisfying! I loved Brandon the clogger, LOVED LOVED LOVED that they brought back Brian. I was just pumped up for every part of it. I loved the montages of the tryouts, each one set to great music that really kept me revved. They reprised almost every favorite dance I’ve enjoyed from the whole season. The only one I’d have subbed was the Lacey/Kam Mia routine for the Lacey/Neil Mia one, but I understand why they included that one. We got to see Hok, Jesus, no Jessi, Anya, Sara, Pasha, more Sara, more Pasha, no Jessi…. Really, it was fabulous!

I was surprised Lacey went out before Neil, but was thrilled with the final two of Sabra and Danny. I know fans will quibble over Nigel’s stupid polling for votes for the girls last night (could have slapped him - let them win on their own merits, dammit.) But I don’t think anyone can argue that both Sabra and Danny easily deserved the win. I was thrilled for her, as I wanted a Sabra win, but was still disappointed for Danny. God knows he’ll have a lovely, long career anyway, but I’d have gladly taken a tie.

I already hate that it’s over! Wah!! I want more dancing and now we have to wait until forever for Dancing with the Stars to come back. September 24th, in case you were counting the days. Not that I am or anything. I hear that Julianne’s brother is a pro on the show this year, as is her previous competition partner. Word is they’re both wonderful, so that could be exciting. Lots of rumors on the celebs that might be on, but nothing confirmed that I could find. I’ll be sure to dish when I hear or read anything. And please, do the same!!

Okay, now on to this week’s SHaQ Attack winner! I asked you to name the two sets of brothers I’ve written about in my previous Brava series. The answers are: The Morgans - Jace, Tag, Austin, and Burke. And the Chisholm lads - Brodie, Dylan, Reese, and Tristan. The winning Blog Babe this week is…..Cathy M! Woo hoo!!!

Tune in Monday for another round of SHaQ Attack and….uh…..gulp! What will I MAC??? I’m feeling a little lost here. Wandering in the woods, like one of Wade Robson’s orphan foxes…. Wait!! Top Chef isn’t over yet! And I still have this week’s episode to watch. Also, I’ve been taping Last Comic Standing now that it’s the Real Show. Maybe I’ll check them out. It’s only been a few hours and I’m already having serious dance withdrawal people. All I have is cooking I can’t eat….and the possibility of occasional laughter. I’m not sure this will fill the bill, but what’s an orphan fox to do??

Hurry up Fall Progamming!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thank god for TiFaux!

Well, my day ended at 1am, and as much as it KILLED me, I couldn’t stay up to watch the finale of Dance Like You Want 250K. But! It’s TiFauxed and I will get to it today, as well as the results tonight, and you’ll get a jampacked MAC tomorrow, along with the winner of this week’s SHaQ Attack contest. Woo hoo!

Until then….who do you think is gonna win???
