Tim Time!

So…I can barely stand the dance withdrawal. Thank goodness we’re getting bonus seasons of Survivor and Big Brother to help us weather the slump and the strike.

Last night Our Tim led our Project Runway designers on a new challenge. Is it just me, or a winter malais, or is this season not really turning into All That? I’m sort of…bored. So, this week they remaining designers had to choose an outdated look from eras of yore, and try and update it. Oh, and they had to work in teams of three and make the three designs to appear to be a cohesive collection. Yeah. It wasn’t all that. Who really wants to see pleather and spandex updated?

Anyway, there were four teams. I think. (I just watched it and already it’s fading.) I didn’t really like any of the final collections. I thought maybe Christian’s team had the most well made and cohesive collection, but can’t say I liked it all that much. Team Overalls ended up winning, which sort of surprised me, despite having two of the stronger designers on their team. (The names aren’t even sticking with me. That’s not a good sign.) Bottom two teams were Ricky and Chris. I heart Chris, but his collection was ugly (not saying much in comparison this week) and, though I thought Stephen’s was the worst in their group, it was Chris who was told he was Out! Ricky was the next to last. A place he seems to occupy a lot.

So…next week? I know. Do we care? Yawning a little bit, but we’re desperate here, so we do what we do. Tonight is Survivor and we find out if the team can eat without James and who else has the chance to win the thing.

Don’t forget - it’s your last day to enter this week’s SHaQ Attack contest. Check Monday’s post for the details!!

Happy TGIF-eve everyone!

Monday MAC

So…the Mountaineers couldn’t pull of the national title appearance, but they’ll get a BCS bowl game and that’s not too shabby. What a year in college football, huh?

In other news, Phil’s pants? Why yes, yes indeedy. I heart his dresser.

So, this week on Amazing Race we get to leave Africa and head to Lithuania, which looks to be a lovely country. The Blondes are still arguing, Nate and Jen are still calling each other vile names, and TK and Lorena are finally learning the art of asking for directions. I think the Lithuanians are kindred spirits to our hippy team. Nick and Grandpa struggle to find out where they’re going, and the blondes can’t stop shouting long enough to get the job done. Frankly, neither could Jen or Nate, who I really want to see gone from this competition. Poor Christina is still putting up with her dad, who, I suppose is trying, but it’s hard to just stop being a jerk when it’s your default position. Boy is he annoying. In the end, it’s the Blondes heading home. I’m very okay with this.

Shockingly, TK and Rachel come in first, and my current fave team, the Goths, come in a very very close second. A shame, because I would have loved to see the Goths Do Japan, if they’d won that trip. Nick and Grandpa are at the bottom of the pack starting the next leg, but I’m still liking them (despite the fact that grandpa seems to do better than Nick when given a task…) And I love how Kynt is all sweet to everyone they meet along the way. His adopted Lithuanian accent, however, was hilarious. Love you guys.

Next week should be interesting!

So…are we going through Dance withdrawal yet? We have to wait allllllll the way until Wednesday for Reality Fun. God only knows what the designers will have to do next on Project Runway. And for whom. At least, with James gone, things should start to get really interesting on Survivor, with no clear front runner in sight. Is the writer’s strike over yet?? I support the writers whole-heartedly (duh)….but hey, I don’t want to run out of my Guilty Pleasure, DirtySexyMoney. So, hurry it up people, just give them the residuals you know they deserve and be done with it already. Because, after all, it is all about me.

For this week’s SHaQ Attack contest, here’s the deal: Tell me the name of the company run by my first three Black Sheep heroes. Send your answer to donna@donnakauffman.com with “Black Sheep” in the subject line. One winner chosen from all correct entries and announced on Friday.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Double ACK!

Triple really, because in the middle of this post, my DSL went down and ate it and I had to write even this one again. AUGH! So, apparently I need Remedial Blogging 101. Because I knew I would be gone all day, so I wrote a Mega MAC Daddy blog, set it up to post automatically…and get home now, going on midnight, and see no post, no nothing, poof! My clocks are all blinking at me, so apparently my power went down at some point….but who knows!

I can tell you…Kendra went home on Project Runway for making a godawful suit for Tiki Barber to wear, but it should have been Sweet Pea, for making an even worse suit (hard as that is to believe) and no, I did not make up an affectionate nickname for her, that is actually her name. Really. And on Survivor, NO!!! James goes home, but I understand and even approve of Amanda masterminding the plan to blindside him because it’s good game play. Which is why I also loved James’ exit speech where he makes it clear that he understood totally and even applauded them for good game play. Despite having not one, but two immunity idols in his pocket!!!! I do get why he thought he didn’t need them until it was down to his original tribe mates. A bad gamble, but there you go. And the reward trip to the Shaolin temple was also awesome. Good episode, even if one of my favorites had to go.

But, most importantly, who is the winning Blog Babe in this weeks’ SHaQ Attack contest? Lily!! Woo hoo!!

Have a safe and wonderful weekend, everyone! I’ll see you back here (I hope!) on Monday with more MAC and a new contest. I may actually make you work for the next one. :)
