Finally, I’m back! And so is Free Stuff Friday!
Happy New Year, Blog Babes! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are getting used to writing 2010 on things. I’m not. And, is it me, or does 2010 sound a whole lot more futuristic than any of the “0’s?” It’s all just very Tron to me. (So dating myself here….)
So, fun stuff coming this year for me, and by me, I mean for you! The mass market re-release for The Black Sheep & The Princess is out right this very second. Then, the end of this month, January 27th to be exact, HERE COMES TROUBLE will hit the shelves. (And check out the March issue of Cosmo which hits the shelves around Valentine’s Day..this book is the Red Hot Read for that month! Woo hoo!) The advance reviews are coming in and I am really excited to hear that folks are enjoying this one.

“In Kauffman’s latest sensual scorcher…(she) plays out the “will they or won’t they” scenarios with her typical finesse, delivering another fun romance.” Publishers Weekly
“With likable characters and the bantering tone of a 1960’s romantic comedy, this story entertains.” 4 stars/Compelling Page Turner ~ Joyce Morgan, RT BookReviews
I am looking toward the spring and hopefully the Great Thaw (my toes and my fanny are permanently numb, living in this ongoing deep freeze…. Unfortunately, a frozen fanny seems to take up just as much room in my jeans as my unfrozen fanny did. This seems unfair. I will ponder that as I polish off the last of these holiday cookies…)
However, when spring does get here, you’ll be able to enjoy the next release, which will launch another Scotland-based contemporary series, beginning with SOME LIKE IT SCOT. (See cover in the blog roll to your right. Man fills out a black t-shirt, is all I’m sayin.) Then, in July, I am very pleased to be with my old HQ author buds to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Blaze, with my new one for them, SIMON SAYS…. (And yes, the rumor is true, I will be doing a paranormal for them as well, tentatively slated for next year…so all of you who have been asking if I’m going to do any more “woo woo” stuff, your patience has paid off! And I thank you!) And! Coming this fall, will be the re-release of Kissing Santa Claus, and the next brand new Christmas anthology, which will complete the three-story arc I started in To All A Good Night….THE NAUGHTY LIST will be out in October.
Your enthusiasm for my books has been an inspiration to me and I want to thank you all for your continued notes and cheers. Your great word-of-mouth not only keeps me invigorated and excited, but it also helps to spread the joy and keep my books out there. I would like to give a special thanks to those of you who go that extra mile and take the time to post online (blogs, bulletin boards, and especially the book sites like Amazon, Barnes & Noble) with your positive, cheering reviews. This is something that my editors and other publisher insiders definitely take note of, and it means a great deal to me that you are so generous with your time and enthusiasm. The more the merrier, too, so an advance thanks to all you new Blog Babes and readers for helping me keep that vibe going into this new year! I don’t take it (or any of you!) for granted and want you to know it’s deeply appreciated!
So now? On to the fun stuff! Free Stuff Friday is alive and well in this new decade, and I say we kick it off right. Send me an email to donna@donnakauffman.com with “New Year! New Book!” in the subject line. I will choose two entries from the pile and announce the winners right here on Friday. Winners are eligible for an advance copy of HERE COMES TROUBLE (or any title from my website bookshelf, for those trying to fill in those collection gaps!) Good luck!
And YAY, finally this week, we have the return of Idol and Project Runway, so something to MAC about (Morning After Commentary, for those who are new to these parts.) Also, I’ll admit that I did watch the premiere of The Bachelor last week — hey, there was nothing new on! — and while he’s admittedly very easy on the eyes and seems like Good Guy Hero Material, oy with the ladies vying for his, um….roses. We may have to have a little SmackMAC about that one. Time, and the roses, will tell!
Happy New Year to you all! And now? Finally? DISH!!
